2009 Left Over Or 2010 Facelift,Worth The Extra Pennies ?
hey, fellas
I'm thinking about getting a couple of different cars and one of my choices is a S550. I was wondering with the new face lift on it's way although there are some cool differences, how much would the dealer discount a 2009 left over with a m.s.r.p of $107,050?
and if it's enough maybe ill step up to a s63.

I cannot say yet, but I will report back as my wife is negotiating on a left over 2009. Her current car, a 2007 S550, is just now out of warranty. Even though we have an extended warranty on the car she is interested in changing. This is quite odd for her. This was all prompted by the salesman we use contacting us about trading. We dropped by yesterday to see what they had. I trotted out the requirement for a huge discount to take one of these 2009s off their hands. It remains to be seen what they will offer. It would help if someone who has actually bought a car would report the real result. I mentioned the 19,500 off reported on another thread. It did not produce a totally negative response. We will see.

Here is the result of several days of back and forth with my dealer over buying a leftover 2009 S550. This began when they contacted me about trading in the car we have now for a new one while keeping the same payment. This did not happen for several reasons. First, there are four local dealers. The three nearest ones are all owned by the same company. So there is no opportunity to play one off on the other. Second, the only colors left are black and white. My wife does not like black or white. So this came down to price mostly. The lowest they would go on the price was to invoice, which is seven percent off the MSRP. They would offer to finance at 1.9%, but not down to the buy rate of .9%. This dealer is sitting on about 20 S550s of various sorts. I assume they feel they will be able to unload all of these by August when the 2010s should start arriving. The economy in this area is still pretty sound. So they might be feeling the need to deal as much as other dealers.

I'm not sure, I guess it really depends on how much you would like to spend. An 09 is a great car however it is always something special to know you have the latest and greatest.
