For Sale: W221 AMG Blue LED Door Sills Plates

Hey guys, we just got W221 S-Class Door Sill plates. They are blue illuminated and say "AMG" when lit. The plates have a brushed aluminum look to them. We have both the "Mercedes-Benz" one and the "AMG" one.

Please ask any questions you might have.

Thanks!

Below are some photos, the one white has the blue protective film peeled off. Once that blue is off, they will all have that white-ish background when off. (Also, the red/black wires are the connectors)

How much are they and are the recipient wires located at the door sill for easy locating and hooking up or does carpet and panels have to be removed for this project?
I would want the ones that say "Mercedes-Benz"

I called them up and they don't know where the wires connect to, but the cost is $370 including shipping to Alabama. So each state may vary a bit but that gives everyone an idea of the cost.

If anyone knows where they hook up at, let me know. Mine are getting scuffed up and this would be a nice additional improvement.

They are connected to a light source, preferably the dome light.

The "Mercedes-Benz" ones are $370.00 shipped in the US and the "AMG" ones are $474.00 shipped in the US.

Thanks!

I see,
connecting it - easier said than done.
It might be tricky, to not to trigger any impedance imbalance.
Although, it looks good.
I bet, my wife would step on the sill anyway....

I've always wondered why this is not an option or just a standard on AMG sedans... would be great to have them installed at the factory

I'm sure mercedes is saving this as a "feature" on a special edition 63/65 at the end of the W221 run...

I think there are a lot of options as to where one can hook wire them up. I am not sure how the factory hooks them up though, sorry.

Sorry, no actual photos of them installed, hopefully we'll have a customer snap some photos for us soon.

I think it should definitely come standard on AMGs. I do think that it is an option though, but VERY heavily priced

Hey 123 Mercedes, since this is controversial item which you seem to know nothing about, why not take one of your local customers to the MB dealer and install these so that everyone knows what's involved with their installation.... Then you may sell them like hotcakes.

Thanks for your recommendation, but honestly there is not much about this item you need to know. There are several guides on the forum for other models on how to install these. The process shouldn't be too different for the S-Class. Like I said, the hardest part is finding where to tap the wires.

I would think that if someone wants to sell something on this forum that they could answer a few questions. I would suggest knowing everything about a product before you intend to sell it.

I would answer the question on how to install on a S class or remove your item on this forum. Sounds like you are a little lazy about helping a potential customer which should also send up red flags for after sale issues.

I totally understand what you are saying, but it's not like we have every model Mercedes to try all our accessories on. What questions have I not answered?

We'd be more than happy to offer a slight discount to any member who would write up the installation process.

I would think you should have an install sheet for an S class already complete showing detailed installation.

I don't know if this helps, but when i had my e-class I installed them and had it tapped into each door's pin switch. Did not have to go far with the wiring and the door sills light up independentlly.

I'll say it again,
123Mercedes, could you show the picture of the sill being lit?
Just tap it to any 12V source and show us a picture.
I bet you will make some sales, unless...

Thank you VERY much for the info.

I took a look at mine a few days ago and thought that maybe the light that comes on under the knee bolster area would be a good source to tap into.

I can assure you that the carpet and padding under the carpet will be very thick and stubborn to manuever.

Well it's taken 3,5 years now...

Does anyone know where to get these for decent price with actual instructions how to install them?
