Dynamic seats

Has anyone noticed the dynamic seat feature turning itself off? I've been noticing from time to time that my dynamic seat feature is not working. I turn it back on by going through the comand menu, but several days later will randomly notice it's back off again. The passenger side seems to be staying on. Is there anything that I might be doing that causes this? Maybe one of the seat preset buttons shuts it off or some start cycle default overrides it . I don't know. All I know is, I am not turning it off myself via comand

It can be leak in the air bladders or defective air pump. Have your service check it.

No. It's not that they don't work, it's as if they've been switched off b/c when I go through the menu, it is turned off and I have to turn it back on.

might be a problem with your seat memory...check for the entry/exit function to see if it works, it happened to me once when my seat memory malfunctioned and basically the dynamic setting goes with the seat memory..if that part's not working then it resets itself to 0

Mine does the same thing. It'll stay on for long periods of time, and sometimes it will randomly shut itself off, or I'll start the car and it's off all of a sudden. I've just credited it to an electronic glitch which I'd assume is basically inevitable.

However recently, during a 4 hour drive, it just shut itself off (after about 3 hours), and wouldn't turn back on, neither would the passenger side. I though it was a short or something, but when I turned the car off and back on, it was able to engage again.

Mine did the same after we had fixed the leaking. It was a failure of the air pump (it was reheating).

Hmm, thanks for the info. Now I guess I'll put it on my checklist for the next time I go to the Dealer.

The trouble is they won't replace it unless the diagnostics shows the problem. You have to insist on replacing it just to make sure. It's this part:

Just to make sure everyone is clear on what I'm talking about. I'm not talking about the massage feature. I'm referring to the lateral support feature that inflates the bolsters and lateral support while making turns. My massage feature is working fine.

I just went out to my car and sure enough, it has turned itself off again after staying on for a week. Last Wednesday was the last time I turned it on.
Also, the passenger seat remains to be on, so that should indicate that the problem is not a time-dependent thing but a malfunction of some sort on the driver's side.

What is interesting that in the pre-facelift version you are not able to use the Favourite button for programming the massage function. They told me it's because you should be only using it for not more than 10 minutes because the air pump gets very hot. But in the facelift, it is possible. Makes no sense. This is a design flaw of W221, at least 2006-2009.
