My dealer told me it is not worth taking anything better than standard 95. What do you think, what is you personal experience?

I always take the premium. I'm in Europe too...
I don't know whether it is worth it.... maybe it's placebo but I feel the car performs better....
I'm not sure the Americans have the same fuel quality as here ?...so responses might be mixed.

I have only tried taking Shell V-Power Diesel into BMW diesel engines and the consumption was lower ~1,5l / 100Km.

96 and 08 911 turbos
You can run regular fuel, but you will lose power and fuel economy. The resulting loss in fuel economy almost makes up for the cheaper price.
Not really worth it to run regular.

So I'll take Shell V-Power and similar from now on.

your octane ratings are different from ours. we (texas) have 87/89/93 while i believe California has 91 instead of 93, some california AMG owners complained that the 91 gas made the NA 6.3 motors feel very sluggish compared to the 5.5 Kompressor variants.

Yes it's worth it. I have a few cars in the house. 2 of them are always on ****-poor 87RON gas and the rest (like my S) is on 95RON.
The 2 cars that are on 87RON have now developed detonation and one of them even needed an engine rebuild because the pistons and cylinders got really caked up with gunk and just overall bad gas residue.
Of course, this might be a bit extreme and could also because the 2 cars are the cheapest in the house that we use as work horses and thus get the highest miles of travel, but I think the point is quite clear.
Use the best gas whenever possible. I loved my Michigan days when I used to be able to get 94RON Sunoco.
By the way, Asian 95RON is nothing like Sunoco 94RON which is much higher. Ours is closer to US 91RON.

Alright so sum it up - in Europe, you take 98, in US, you take premium and you calculate your octane number differently so 93? According to Wikipedia, it should be like this:
Europe
"EuroSuper" or "EuroPremium" 95
US
"premium" gasoline in US and Canada 97-98
So I think US guys are speaking of AKI number whether Europeans speak about RON number. Either way, it is worth taking the premium fuel.
