Greeking noise from console

My car is perfect and I am **** on keeping it that way, but today the center console started to creek and squeak. Can I take it to the dealer and have warranty fix that or am I asking for too much of the warranty to do that?

This is NOT normal. It would bother me greatly.
Let them check it, I'm sure some screw or connection has got loose.
Probably easy fix.

Also, colder weather might affect it (we all know about shrinkage )

Yes, you can claim it under warranty. However, if your dealer is anything like mine, they will give a half-assed attempt at locating and correcting.

Sorry for the spelling error, when I realized it, it was too late. Can't edit titles.

Any rattle/squeak is a warranty thing. In my ML, I've had a VERY creaky rear tailgate which was fixed under warranty. In the S550, I had a seat that would make slight ticks or creaky noises that was fixed under warranty. In the S500, I've had a creaky center console, fixed under warranty, and a creaky roof in the SL. Fixed as well.

Don't worry, everybody understood the title

BTW, let us know what the dealer's response is.
Some dealers (read SA - Service Advisors) will attack the problem with vengeance, some on the other hand, will try to ignore it.
All depends on the "incentive" err....customer relations, if you know what I mean.

I'm assuming you go to FJ Newport Beach. If its bothering you, take it in. Simple as that. Please post your results.

I find FJ Newport so far has provided good service and heck, there are 4 other stealers within 20 mins and there is not enough volume for all of them to stay in business IMO. I'm bombarded with 25%-50% off coupons by FJ for service, which as far as I know, I never saw prior to just a few months ago.

Let them earn your business.

Yes my car has always been serviced at FJ, have a appointment for tomorrow morning. Then on a plane to Colorado for business, so the car will be there until I get back for the weekend. I post what they say later.

Well got the car back and well it stopped making noise alot but there is still a slight squeak. The dealer removed the center console a put felt tape at the areas that were rubbing against each other, but like I said I am **** and want things perfect so I think I will spend a afternoon felt taping all the contact areas myself. The car was in service so I had the brake fluid changed while it was there, it's been 10 months since I had it changed and they said no need the fluid is still clean but I like it super fresh so I said "change it" overall they gave no grief on the small complaint and did what I asked (No Charge). Good service experience w/ FJ.

My apologies on the writing, "No Charge" was for the repair but did pay $100 for the brake fluid change.
