Good luck with the 20's. You may need it. My experience has been 18's nearly 0 risk of dents, 19's risk increases, 20's risk grows exponentially. It is just not worth the aggravation and the ride is never the same after "repair"

AMG & RR
@ Lou: Thanks for the info but I am not in the market for a used S class as I have already had an 07 S550. Still thank you for the information, it might come in handy for a friend of mine.
@pmb600: Thanks for the pic. When I spoke to the dealer he told me that there was a typo in the order and that 18s are not available and that they were 19s. Anyway I requested the change to 20" 10-Spoke Sterling Silver. I had 20s on my 07 S550 and I loved the look and feel. The 19s do seem nice but until I see the car I really can't tell to be honest. If I don't like the 20s I'll change them. I just didn't want small little 18s on the vehicle.

I cannot imagine riding with 20"s. But maybe I'm just a heavy user

-wants a new car
-wants to be able to pick and choose whats on his car
-likes the new car at dealer experience
-likes the warranty that comes with new cars
-isnt worried about finding the "cheapest" car available
-many other reasons
Am I right? Ordering a new car at the dealership is just a fun experience, so is the drive home. That is as long as you have a good dealer that doesnt spend hours arguing with you over prices.

-wants a new car - you get a new car at Grand Prix
-wants to be able to pick and choose whats on his car - You do it at Grand Prix
-likes the new car at dealer experience - you can go to the dealer and pick up your car by yourself, Grand Prix just does presale paperwork for you.
-likes the warranty that comes with new cars - it is a new car
-isnt worried about finding the "cheapest" car available - I get that
-many other reasons - what other reasons ??

09 S600
Buy the S600. You will love it. It has a certain presence and "feel" the S63 just doesn't have. I faced the same dilema a few months back and sought advice here as well. I bought the S600 ('09 leftover) and absolutely love it. Its well worth the wait.
PS Should you choose not to wait, please give me the name and number of your dealer. I will gladly take your place at delivery!

'09 S63 AMG
maybe I'm baised...
but an S63 is much more fun to drive. Sure, the 600 might be more luxurious but how much pleasure do you get from sitting on premium napa/designo leather vs. stepping on the gas pedal and feeling the torque and whiplash from an AMG engine?

Lol. I don't think using Torque as a factor is in any way going to benefit the argument for the S63. In fact I always hear of 55/600 owners complaining about the 6.2's lack of torque.
Still a toss up for me, I'm huge on the harmonic growl of a great V8, and the AMG body-styling is a must for me. But that premium Leather and refinement is definitely a HUGE factor for me as well, and I have no doubts that if I drove both back to back, the 600 would have to sway me into it.
