iPOD integration kit for 07 S550

I got today a 07 S550 with no iPod kit in the dashboard. I have no idea if there's any wiring made for the iPod/iPhone... but I can's see any cables in the dashboard or somewhere else.

What does it take to have one installed? Does MBdealership do that? or custom shops? or can I just do it by my own? I would love to get some instructions of installing it, tutorials, or videos or pics.
Do I need any change in the software of the audio system? Please help me out!

I also can't find the navigation DVD with maps! does it have one? or is it on the HDD? Where can I get a newer update for maps?

Also looking to resolve connecting my iPhone to the bluetooth of the car(but that MHI adapter is not there...) where do I get it cheaper then 300$??

it can be done DIY if you are willing to take parts of the dash apart.. specifically you need to remove the CD drive in the center of the dash and plug the kit in behind it. Also you need to have 'aux' turned on in your audio menu.. if its not there then you will need to take the vehicle to the dealer to have it coded. The kit is available from MB parts and costs about $500.

just break down and buy robs, forget the factory band-aid iPod adapter. sure, Rob's is almost 3x as much but well worth it... does video, uses the COMAND controller... kind of like how it should of been from the factory!

BTW Rob, great job on this iPod idea you did!

iPod integration

So Mr. Rob.... Give me a good deal on 1x iPod integration, 1 remote/keyless go(I got te keyless entry only, but they forgot to put the button to start the engine, or something like that....), 1x back-up camera, 1x "watch DVD-s while you drive"-system.
You can either PM me... Or just post some numbers here please. Make it with labor and without labor so I have an ideea. I also would like if you could split up the whole "upgrading" project.

Thnks a lot

iPod Integration

I just purchased my 07 S550 with no iPod/Aux connector. This post hasn't been updated in quite some time. Is there an easy way to accomplish this without going to the dealership?

Sadly, the MB kit is apparently sold out and unavailable. One solution would be to use the MidCity Engineering Video In Motion module, which while designed to inject an external video source into COMAND (composite video Yellow RCA plus Left & Right Audio, Red & White RCA) you could use it as an audio aux-in, and add a $49 Miccus mini BT audio receiver to get Streaming BT Audio.
