Can somebody post prices for a 07 s550 and 07 cls63 with 35000 miles or less? I'm lookng to purchase one of the two in the next few months. Would either of the two have decreased in price at all due to the cosmetic changes with the newer models?

low 40s for high mileage cars, upper 40s to low 50s for clean, low miles and high number of features... definitely a good time to get an '07 or '08...

i wouldn't bother with the CLS, it's part of a dying breed :-) car's about to get a major facelift... if you want power, and don't care about an older body style - the 215 CL65 or a CL600 w/ a few mods would be the best bet! Plus the CL is timeless...

 

Hmmm how soon is that major facelift coming? Do you think the current S class will retain that same general shape longer? I want to keep this car for at least a few years without it looking too dated.

I was seriously thinking bout the e63 or cls63 but its gonna be a major gas guzzler, Id rather just get a nice S class. How do i decipher all those numbers in the manheim listing?

Im looking for an 07 s550 with preferably less than 40,000miles, amg package, and p1.

The last two numbers are the mileage and the price.

lol i figured that part out, i was referring to the letters P A Y CD SR L, they vary by each vehicle

4 (doors), Gas, P (no clue), A (no clue/could be automatic trans), CD (radio), SR (satellite radio), and L (no clue/could be long body style)

No, it doesn't work that way. MMR does not have a comprehensive list of options for the car and is oftentimes wrong.

You need to actually see the car or run the VIN to get the correct list of options.

 

Oh okay I see. My cousin knows a guy down in the states who has a manheim account, thats how he bought his clk. If I do find a car that im interested, the guy im dealing with should be able to provide me with a vin right? At that point, who would I contact to get the specs? Im in Canada so im assuming I would call MBUSA?

It's a dealer auction website from what I've gathered. Nice 63 btw!!!

 

These are post-sale results w/ minimal info. Call up Mike Yasin - he will be able to preview the cars for you via Manheim website and in person. The previews show up a day or two before the auctions and have tons of photos of the car, all the damage listed and details on the features.

 

manheim account will give you access to preview the cars before the auction with the VIN details... You can take that VIN to the dealer and if someone is nice to you, you can get a bunch of the service details :-)

this way you know what you're getting into - or at least maximize your chances of getting a good car. i'd recommend working with a broker than knows this area really well and paying a grand or two over the auction price to someone that can go for you and preview the cars at the auction and share the preview details like the 1-5 point rating (1 being low end car, 5 being super clean) and the disclosure of damages...

 

Hmm thanks for the info! Would a Canadian MB dealer be able to run US vins? Yeah I dont mind throwing some extra cash to that guy so he can go there for me and call me with all the details. Im so excited to get the 550, even though its going to be late may early june. lol do you think maybe prices might drop a bit by then?

 

The 07's will continue to drop in price thru the end of the year. I would guess another 7-8k- by the end of Dec you should be able to pick up a low mile car for 36-38k.
