It sounds like they were saying "keyless go, parktronic" but it got jumbled. Price is high, I paid $53k for nearly the identically same car in Jan. I know some will say that car should go for a #2 value meal and a case of beer, but I would say low to mid $50's is reasonable.

emilner,

I agree the cars asking price is high. But that is just asking price.
I would have to go with low 50s also for fair price on this.
I really don't want a s550 with 50k miles to start off like the other one I was looking at. In one year i will have 65 to 70k miles and selling at that point, i am gonna get a real beating.

if they budge on low 50s, i think i am gonna have to move in on this.
Plus i think your car is optioned better with p2 and night vision. I know it's not a biggie option but would be kewl to have.

Also, my friends think the S550 is for old people. I am in my early 30s. Is this car too much 4 me???

Haven't you heard that 30's the new 20's!!!! I actually spoke to a hand surgeon who was 69 and he bought a 2009 last year and he said he absolutely loves it. He was talking about how he got the shiny rims lol and I said chrome rims and he said yeah those lololol. So is it too much for your age no. Are you too old for it NO. will you enjoy it YES!

I'm 33 and I have a S550. I love it! It depends what you are trying to do with it. I'm using it as a commuting car and cruiser for long trips. But I've slightly modified my S550 to make it feel more sporty too. lowered it, AMG S65 OEM appearance upgrade and S65 exhaust. I'm doing wheels very shortly.

The car is so nice, you can't go wrong! at least get one with the AMG sport package if you can.

Good luck!

Neither of my cars is "appropriate" for my age, but who gives a hoot? I drive what I like, not what everyone else thinks I "should" drive ;-)

I doubt the dealer will drop to a reasonable price if they are asking that much, but it is worth a shot. I agree that you should try to stay in the 30k's or lower mileage. That car has P2, I did forget about my Distronic (I don't have NV), but that does not command a huge premium like AMG or P2.

I would not worry what your friends think, I am in my 30's and I love the car. I drive the car bc I love it, not so people think I am driving an appropriate vehicle for my age, occupation etc. The car is a little overkill, an E class is a great everyday vehicle, probably a little more realistic than the S. By that I mean the S is VERY large in and out, it can handle well when needed, but prefers to cruise in comfort. I heard somewhere that it is the only documented vehicle that actually lowers your heartrate when you drive. The E is far 'sportier', but it just does not deliver the experience the S does.

If you can afford the S, then I would not think of choosing a second best option....

Since I know how much they bought it for and if they fix the Chipped on the hood, front and rear bumpers and they changed the LF tire. don't ask more than $52k.

G.L with it. Looks very nice. I think it's going for a smidge more than it should be though.

About the "look" of a young guy driving one, I'm 28 and am considering it, while continually thinking, "why am I not looking at M3's, as it's more "appropriate" for my age?", however, I don't think of an S-Class (with AMG Package at least), to look like an old-fogey's car, and besides, I'm not one of those "always trying to prove how young I am" types, I love big old-fogey Luxo cruisers.

It IS a bit much, and can send a strong message, so that's something to consider. A young guy driving an S-Class is quite a statement, and can be looked at positively or negatively (both for good reasons). However, to me, an S is more fun than an E, I love E-Classes (perfect all-around car IMO), but every old Mama Jane drives one, kind of kills it (unless you have a rare equipped one).
