I agree the cars asking price is high. But that is just asking price.
I would have to go with low 50s also for fair price on this.
I really don't want a s550 with 50k miles to start off like the other one I was looking at. In one year i will have 65 to 70k miles and selling at that point, i am gonna get a real beating.
if they budge on low 50s, i think i am gonna have to move in on this.
Plus i think your car is optioned better with p2 and night vision. I know it's not a biggie option but would be kewl to have.
Also, my friends think the S550 is for old people. I am in my early 30s. Is this car too much 4 me???

The car is so nice, you can't go wrong! at least get one with the AMG sport package if you can.
Good luck!

I would not worry what your friends think, I am in my 30's and I love the car. I drive the car bc I love it, not so people think I am driving an appropriate vehicle for my age, occupation etc. The car is a little overkill, an E class is a great everyday vehicle, probably a little more realistic than the S. By that I mean the S is VERY large in and out, it can handle well when needed, but prefers to cruise in comfort. I heard somewhere that it is the only documented vehicle that actually lowers your heartrate when you drive. The E is far 'sportier', but it just does not deliver the experience the S does.
If you can afford the S, then I would not think of choosing a second best option....

About the "look" of a young guy driving one, I'm 28 and am considering it, while continually thinking, "why am I not looking at M3's, as it's more "appropriate" for my age?", however, I don't think of an S-Class (with AMG Package at least), to look like an old-fogey's car, and besides, I'm not one of those "always trying to prove how young I am" types, I love big old-fogey Luxo cruisers.
It IS a bit much, and can send a strong message, so that's something to consider. A young guy driving an S-Class is quite a statement, and can be looked at positively or negatively (both for good reasons). However, to me, an S is more fun than an E, I love E-Classes (perfect all-around car IMO), but every old Mama Jane drives one, kind of kills it (unless you have a rare equipped one).
