Dealer won't replace tail lights on an 07??

I was at the dealer today and asked if they could put the 2010 LED tail lights on my 07. The guy said that Mercedes won't do it and that he can't even order them because it has to be ordered by vin #?

How have other people gotten them installed without doing it themselves?

2007 S550/2010 tail lights smoked/2W010 LED DRL/22' staggered Maya wheels
Look for any new s550 for sale, possibly in the show room, and order the tail lights from there. It doesn't matter if it's a s400,550,63,or 65 model. All the tail lights are the same. My parts guy in MB did it for me. Whoever you are dealing with is being a a$$hole not even wanting to seek you the part. They won't install for liability issues. The thread the member posted up there is a great guide. Getting them to work properly should be your headache(as you will see in the post) but getting them is the easy part! Let me know & I can refer you to my rep in coral gables MB....good luck

mercedes 2011 CLS550 with AMG package
from what I understand,
althought the lights will fit within the body. The connectors etc are not the same and they will not work like the OEM. I would be interested to see if there is a aftermarket light that looks like the 2011 during the day and will work with the existing electrical system of the 07's

Nope....if not everyone would just get that. If you want the 2010 look it's going to set you back at least $1000 w labor & parts easily.

There is a aftermarket set on ebay, real close to oem and claims no problem with it working with no mods. I believe someone had already purchased these and man do they look good. Wish I would of waited over oem.
