My car in shop for whole new abc system.

I have 2007 S600 with about 25k miles. My original warranty ends this coming November 30th. I first took my car in for some abc work because it was making ticking noise. After 3 new pumps, MB decided to replace everything to do with ABC system except shocks. This may be replaced as well. My service rep told me that all the work is going to take 30hours plus new parts from Germany. I am going to buy extended warranty but I am glad that my dealer took care of the problem few months before factory warranty end.

While my car was in shop for first 3 abc pumps. Dealer ship warranty, control arms, rear sun block, Cup holder lid and cd changer lid as well. They also, found out that my car has key less go and ordered me the plug for igition and new it works.

I have had some problems with this HBL dealership service in past but for now they have done great job getting the car back together.

I have 07 S550 with 29k now and my original warranty ends this coming Oct. The problem is that I'm the second owner and I can't get the MB warranty extended, I have to look for somthing similar to cover EVERYTHING.

Why can't you get an MB extended warranty? I've never heard of it mattering if you are a second owner. I have heard very good things from AAA's warranty program...

My understanding is that you have to get extended warranty before factory expires. I don't think it matters being second owner. I wouldn't even say anything about it. Call HBL in Vienna Virginia. They are owned by penske motor. 703 442 8200. I'm getting one for $4600(extra 3years or up to 75,000miles) for my S600.

this is what i was told to save some money on extended warranty. because I only have 25k miles, it was best for me to get extra 3 years and up to 75000miles rather 100,000miles. i want to say difference was around $1500 to $2000 for 25000extra miles. For my car 50,000miles are more than enough for 3 years.

I agree you should be to buy an extended warranty regardless of being original or second owner. If this is not true, kindly advise us. Thanks.

The best or nothing
I bought MB extended warranty (car garantie) in Germany, two years for 616EUR. The COMAND has recently started acting funny and the control part (joystick) has to be replaced. The cost of the part is 400EUR so I'm curious if this warranty will cover it

Also, I'd like MB to do something with occasional creaking and noises (I think it's the interior trim though..) .. we'll see

I had some creeking noise under driver seat. dealer did quick fix by putting on some grease under the seat and it went away.

Really best way is to get hold of TSB for your car. I tried to copy and paste for forum members but system wouldn't let me do it. I have said it before but if you know anyone or shop who has access to "Miitchell1" you can get all the TSB and recalls. I was at the gas station and pulled some info while I was waiting. I think there were hundreds TSB for current S-class W221. These things are not must for dealer to fix but if there is something wrong they can fix under warranty long as you have one.

If I would of known about mitchell1 before, I could of saved lot of money.

I talked to couple dealers on my area and they told me that I can't get the Mercedes Benz warranty it has to be an aftermarket because I'm the second owner of the car.

HBL in Vienna Virginia said that I can get the factory one but if I'm eligible and they quoted me for extra 3 years 75,000 miles $4000.

Sounds like that is about right to me. Unless you can get better deal, I would use HBL.

I have about 30k miles on my car and I bought 3 years 75,000 miles for $3850 from Fletcher Jones Motorcars.

Almost all of the dealers are rejecting to extend the factory warranty because I'm not the first owner of the car the only way is to have the aftermarket. Fletcher Jones accepted to extend my factory warranty with a very good deal.
