Lightbulb Rear Seat Package Question

Hello All,

A question for you folks with the Rear Seat Package, or knowledge of said package.

I have an infant daughter who will be loaded in the back of my car. She sits in an infant carrier which snaps into a car seat base. In my current S500, I have her positioned in the MIDDLE of the back seat.

If I got a new car with the Rear Seat Package, are there LATCH anchor points in the same locations as the standard rear bench seat? Would I be able to anchor her car seat base in the middle of the rear seat, as I do now? Thank you!

There are little round seat anchor pointers on the seats, but I'm not sure what to compare them to on your car. If you could post a picture of what you're looking for, I can check it tonight.

Question Pictures

Here are the pictures of what I mean. You can see in one of the shots how the seat back bottom is flipped down, revealing the "LATCH" logo on the inboard side of the seat, nearest the armrest.

On the other photo, the seat back bottom is flipped up, revealing the car seat base hook and LATCH metal U-shaped loop anchor point.

Thank you.

Both outboard rear seats have the anchors on the outside. Theoretically, you should be able to hook up the middle child seat by the closest anchors. Not sure how wide it is though. I think a standard S550 has the same setup, so you can probably try it at the dealer.

Thanks. Do both outboard rear seats have anchors on the inside, near the middle arm rest? Not sure if that is what you mean. The photos I took are at the inboard position of the rear seat, drivers side. My S500 has a total of 4 anchor points on the rear seats, 2 per outboard seat with the standard bench in back.

Sorry for being repetitive, it's just that I don't know of any local cars with the rear seat pack and the car I want to buy is a 3 hour drive away.

Thanks again!

Yes, both outboard seats have anchors on the inside; there's a total of four anchors just like in your car. I will try to link a picture later on, but you may want to search "s550 rear seat" in Google Images; there's at least one picture there that somewhat shows the anchor points.

No worries, I perfectly understand ;-)

Excellent, thanks for the reassurrance. The dealer said that the LATCH points are there, but I wanted an independent third-party point of view, someone who HAS the rear seat package and lives with it regularly, and more importantly, can look for himself!

So, thanks again! I'm almost finalized on my new car deal.

Here's the picture; notice the two inner anchor points on the side seats:

You'll be okay, had the same problem too.

4 hooks are there to place seat on right, left, or middle.

Mine with "Rear Seat Package" picture attached.
