Help before i take 2011 delivery
In august i ordered a 2011 S550 with sport 2 pkg pano roof and rear entertainment in dolomite brown. Dealer called today and said car arrived. I went to see it, BREATHTAKING, i am taking delivery next week. While we have not finalized numbers yet the sticker says $111,000. My question is what kind of discount can i push for? Is anyone aware of incentives that dealer might not be willing to share? i would have taken a 2010 but none were available in my area with rear ent, a must for daughter. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Probably could get $20k off MSRP.
Friends of mine got in on the recent E63 AMG deals at $800 a month lease!

"From autumn 2010 onwards a new generation of gasoline V-engines will be gradually introduced in Mercedes-Benz vehicles starting with the S-Class (model 221) and the S-Class Coupé (model 216)."
Taken from the training manual from MBUSA for the US market.

Believe it or not the car was ordered with no deposit, this is my 5th car from this dealer and we have a great relationship. I just want to make sure im not missing any discounts that the pros on this forum might be aware of. Im confident that i will get it down to $100k but if there is something im missing, id love to know.

I'm afraid that most (if not all of us) have no clue as to the October programs for the 2011 - we're only really well versed in the programs from MB-Financial on the 2010 models as they are outgoing. I would say that, if you have a great relationship with your dealer, then there's nothing lost in asking for invoice. In reality, this may be a pretty tough sell. But, in the end, most people who custom order a car from Mercedes usually end up at $1,000 over invoice. Remember, the dealer still gets his holdback cash, which, on an S-Class, is like more than $3,000.
And, with regard to selection, I actually shared your frustration with colors and option combinations. With no offense to our forum members intended, the MAJORITY of cars I was looking at locally (and in 3 surrounding cities) were black/black Sport regular, P2 cars, maybe with a Panoramic roof, and usually rear sun blinds. In my humble opinion, these cars are optioned in a fairly basic manner - nothing exciting - they're like wearing a uniform.
I was put in touch with a VERY savvy dealer 3.5 hours from my home who was able to find me an excellent car at the right price with more options than I wanted or needed, but delivered a very unique car to me - one that I'm fairly confident I won't see matched at the country club or in the office parking lot. If you find the right dealer who can do the homework to get you something special, it's worth the extra drive and trouble, in my opinion. I guess what I'm saying is that if you wanted a 2010, your dealer didn't do the background homework to get you there. Make no mistake, even this late in the model year, there are TONS of fairly unique cars out there. My car was actually shipped in to my dealer from Charleston at no cost to me.
Good luck - start with invoice on your negotiation, settle for maybe $1,000 over.
Just got confirmation that 2011 221 will have the 273,
the 2011 216 will have the 278. In 2012 we will the 278 in the S class.
The training info states it was going to be rolled out in the us this fall, but after speaking with some other MB people, the info was misprinted.
The car has the 5.5L 382hp motor....
