Help with my new purchase please, color etc.
I've looked at everything (Jag xjl, bmw, audi) and have settled on S550. Dealer has 011 palladium gray with ash leather coming any day and really pressing me. Haven't seen palladium, have only owned black or white cars recently, and have never seen ash leather. It's a long way for me to go look at a car I don't want, so am looking for advice on Palladium, as well as ash. Ash looks terrible in the vehicle builder, IMHO. My first benz.

My neighbor has a palladium S and I think it looks fine. I prefer the S in black, silver, or white (with the pano roof). I don't dig the Ash leather at all in person.
No MB dealer in the area to take a look at these options in person? Very subjective stuff.
Browse the gallery on the site to see the variations. I'd worry more about the options. Can't live without the sensors and camera for example.

Thanks
The nearest MB dealer is a small one. They don't stock much. I saw a Palladium there a few months ago when I first started looking and just don't remember it at all. (Must not have been too memorable). I'm not a fan of MB interior choices. Don't like the orangey beige, and just wanted a change from black. Not to worry about the options....I'm getting all of them, right down to the split screen. Premium 2, sport 2, pano, etc.

MBWorld Fanatic!
MB interior are a lot nicer than BMW that's for sure. Never seen that exterior color, but I think Black or white is best for exterior color. But black is so hard to keep clean.

This early into the model year, there's no need to rush into buying anything. If the dealer does not maintain a good inventory, I suggest doing a special order. In my opinion, Black/Black is still the way to go.

Yeah special order is definitely the best way to go. Having a silver car I'd say that its definitely easy to maintain. Nearly always looks clean. No worries about a swirl here and there.

I fully agree as my BMW is silver; however, the black S550 looks stunning (when clean, which it usually is) standing next to it. As long as I do a complete detail (with M105 + M205) every year or so, I don't worry about the swirls. Most people would not even notice these ;-)
