driver window stopped working
Multimillboy, PM you're e-mail address & I'll send the DTB on the driver's window, as an attachment. There may be a way to "attach" a document in a PM, but I didn't find it. Rather than teaching this old dog new tricks, I'd prefer to just do it the old fashioned way. Easier for me & faster.

So, my passenger front door window stopped working and the mechanic said the motor was shot. Not feeling at ease with the diagnosis, I pulled the door panels off both the front and rear passenger side doors, in order to swap the motors. Figured this would reveal if the motor was truly shot. After putting the "bad" motor on the rear door (and vice versa), both windows were now operational. Now, the front window is clearly operating slowly, indicating that there is a problem so need to pull the panel again and check the regulator. Regardless, the motor was not the problem--moral to the story is to not jump to the easy conclusion or diagnose a problem by throwing new parts at it.

The software update did work, I took the DTB straight to the MB dealership service department, they looked it up and said yep your right, that was the problem. Only charged me for the update, didn't pull off doors, check motor, just did the update and the window works perfectly. Thanks for the DTB, saved me a couple hundred bucks for a motor and labor that wasn't needed.

Hi guys, I'm in need of some help! 2 days ago my front passenger window just stopped working. I removed door panel and tested the window motor to see if that was the issue, but when I ran power to it, the motor worked perfectly fine. So after reading this thread over and over, I took it to my local MB dealership and spoke to one of the service reps about the issue and how it could be fixed with a simple software update, he instantly told me that there's no such thing. That if my motor is fine, then it is definitely my door control module, the only time I would need any type of reprogramming is when the auto up/down does not function properly on a window. And left it at that.. Now my question is this, if my passenger door control module would be the issue, wouldn't the rest of my door controls malfunction as well?? I have tried all the controls on my passenger door and everything works properly. The only thing not working is my window... Any help will be highly appreciated guys!!!

I too had the window problem and when I went to my indy I practically had to beg him to do the software update first before taking the door panel apart to check the motor, switch and DCM. This is even after I showed him the service bulletin!! I finally got him to do it and it fixed the problem. Most mechanics will just replace the DCM instead of trying the update but be persistent for them to try it first, looks like it worked for many of us here.
FYI, the only thing that wasn't working was my drivers side window. All other controls worked fine.

I love all of you
After arguing with the service manager at my local dealership and demanded they flash the dcm with the software instead of throwing parts at it, I was told "sir you were right and we were wrong, the software flash fixed your window". Thanks to you guys on this forum. I wish I could buy you all a beer with the money I saved.

I have the same problem with a W221 S350, window won't go down. Done everything else but programming to fix the problem. I have star diagnosis to do flashing for the DCM, do we need SCN coding also, or does control unit programming suffice? I ask since i cannot go online with the unit..

"To resolve, flash the applicable door control module using SDS version 08/08 or later, via SDS menu path: Control units --> Seats and doors -->
DCM-XX - Door control module (Choose DCM with the issue) --> Control unit adaptations --> Control module programming."

Check 112 @ interior fuse panel (left side dash) if fine, remove for several minutes DCM may need to be reset. If unsuccessful, dealer needs to revisit - speak with the service manager to get you in ASAP since this is a repeat repair.
