2007 S550
AMG??????
Alright here's my thing. I bought a S550 in September and i'm kind of confused on what to tell wheel shops. I know my car isn't a 'true' AMG but it does have the body kit and the badge. It also has the 19" Amg Wheels. My question is this:
My calipers are Red and have the AMG logo on them. Are these the AMG Brakes? Is there a difference in AMG brakes and regular S550 brakes?
The reason I ask this is because when I've spoken to wheel shops about purchasing wheels they ask me what kind of brakes I have - I guess for Offset/caliper clearance. Anyone know what I should say?

The brakes you have on do comes with the earlier AMG cars like the CLK 55 AMG. Just tell them you have a S550 or S550 4matic. The wheel shop should know between the S550,S63,and the S65.

Jesus christ guys, Get a grip on reality- Who gives a **** if he wants to put a amg badge on his car. You act like hes pissing on your bible. Most people cant tell the difference between a S class and a C class anyways. Those who can will certainly know its not AMG anyways by the sound/body.
I am new to the MB world but even on the lambo forums nobody was this aggressive. We are all MB owners, relax and let people do what they want. I changed my grill out- Dont like it? GFY, because I do.

WOW! my thread got hijacked. All I asked was about the brakes, NOT about if I should put a badge on!!!!!
Anyways thaks to the ones that were helpful. I had some brake work done last month, so I decided to call my guy at MB who knew my car and he stated that they're still considered as s550 brakes. Which now makes it easier for me to shop for wheels now.

not an AMG car = not AMG brakes. unless the previous owner dumped like 5000 in a AMG BBK.
here's the kicker, get a tape measure. if your rotor measures something over 14.5 inches you probally have a BBK, anything under and it's not.

I always assumed the people with non AMG cars that have the AMG badge on the back were people who weren't enthusiasts and just didn't know any better or how stupid they really looked.
