I have a 2007 s550 and the command system has been updated. I can now see VIDEO and TRAFFIC on the main screen.

BUT I called Sirus to get Traffic and they said they needed 2 Sirus ID numbers. My system only shows one. I have had the car to the dealer a couple of times and they can not figure it out.

ANY suggestions ???

I have this in my 07 but never signed up for anything through Sirius... I dont believe this is a Sirius feature. I do have MBrace service though. With Video you can now watch DVD movies in park with the parking brake on...

I believe these are Mercedes features, not Sirius. My traffic updates are only on major highways and appear as notices in the traffice menu and as little car icons (red and yellow) in the nav map.

You do, however, need to live in an area where the RDS/TMC data is broadcast.

that makes sense now. I also have a 2011 CLS and it does have the 2 ID numbers from sirus and it shows the graphic on the screen the traffic flow etc. I pay an extra monthly fee for the traffic from sirus radio

maybe the 07's did not have the SAT traffic option back then

My understanding is traffic USED TO BE FREE and available through regular FM but since 2010 it is handled through SIRUS and is a pay-for option.
I don't know how this applies to an upgrade in an older car, but there are a lot of things I don't know....

It switched to SIRIUS for 2010 models and newer vehicles. It remains free for earlier year model vehicles.

As far as I know, you do for 2010+. I have a 2010 and have only used the Sirus traffic info. I was told that it was only available through Sirus for 2010+, but if you know better, please confirm.

Not sure about the 2010 but i'm pretty sure the 07-09 you don't need sirus to get live traffic.

That's what has been said. The "sirius connetion" started in 2010.
