Advice on purchasing used S550

I'm new to the forum, but my wife owns a E320 and we love it! I'm looking to purchase a S550 and I know we will love this car even more, but I am looking to buy used. Is there any major differences in '07 and '08 years? Should high mileage concern me any if I'm buying certified, I know the diesels run forever, but how about the gas models? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I can not wait to jump into this forum and gather tons of useful information!

You've got to find that sweetspot where the money savings by getting a high mileage car are offset by the potential extra maintenance costs.
I carefully select and put through multiple inspections any car I buy for a client. And you get all these services essentially for free, because I work on a 5% markup so my price is usually the same or better than you'll find at a typical dealer.
I can provide excellent extended warranties as well, which people on this and other forums will vouch for.
Email me at brucem105@comcast.net, or call me a 856-912-2600 and I can go over all the info with you, and provide references. I just completed a search for a CL55 this morning, so now I need a new Mercedes to hunt for!

One of the things I do when inspecting a car for a claien is pull the car's VMI to go over its entire MB dealer service history. And then it gets inspected by auction post-sale, me, and my Benz dealer for any potential problem. If any are found, they are either corrected at no expense or the car gets returned.
Then you can always buy an extended warranty (which you probably should on an S550 even without any potential trans issues) that will cover you should any problems crop up in the future.

"I know everyone assumes I am biased, as I sell extended warranties, and I probably am. But I buy a LOT of AMG and 600-series cars for my clients on a custom-order basis." ---Prior tansmisson thread post.
I know, I know. I am simply a naive Wisconsin farm boy. But, I haven't seen such an unconscionable "pounce" since I watched my haggard, old mixed-breed tabby nail an unsuspecting mouse out behind the barn.....
I was unaware this was a selling forum.

I also offer a lot of free advice, some of it actually worthwhile. Ask around, you'll see. And I've gotten more than a few MBWorld members their cars for them.
Overall, I'm one step up from the single-cell used car dealer types...but it's a big step.
