Noise of airmatic suspension in first few minutes of driving then goes away??
Hey guys,
I recently purchased a 2007 S320 CDI, with airmatic suspension. I notice there seems to be creaking or squeaky kind of nice when going of speed bumps within first 10 mins of driving car, but after the car "warms up" this noise disappears when hitting speed bumps.. Is this normal? i have a lot of speed bumps in my area, the noise is from front suspension i think.
After first 10-15 mins there is no more noise.
Thanks guys!

according to my mechanic, he says its the antiroll bar rubbers, the bushes or whatever they call them. but the whole antiroll bar has to be replaced. The place i bought the car where trying to fixing it by adding new roll bar links, but my mechanic says not going to work.

There is a technical bulletin about the anti-roll bar rubber making noise at speed bumps etc. The fix does not need any new parts.

Do you know the bulletin number? I'm having some slight squeaking now, but not major however I want to address it before it gets worse. I was thinking that it maybe the upper control arm bushings.

Bump again. I have the car in the shop for lower control arm replacement. If I push down on the left side of the car, I can hear the noise clear as day. Going to go ahead and change my engine mounts, here shortly. I'll DIY it. I see you can buy parts on Ebay for 100 or so bucks.

I had the same issue, the replaced the left lower control arm (they charged $750.00 for parts, labor, and wheel alignment) and the sound went away, now the right side is making the same noise and I'm going to DIY it myself.

I ordered what I needed from FCPEuro. I ordered the cheaper part which was not in stock. Ordered the OEM Mercedes Part for around $200 shipped to Japan.

Creaking noise over speed bumps.
There is a Service Bulletin on this. I had this same problem with my "08" for quite some time before finally getting it resolved last year.
I had the dealer follow the procedure in the Service Bulletin. We weren't sure it was going to solve it but figured it was worth a try. They applied glue to the sway bar mounts and reinstalled them. The noise is completely gone and has been for over a year.

I had the bulletin which I printed off of STAR TECHINFO. Not sure where it is but I will look for it and post the bulletin # if I find it.
If someone currently has access to Star Techinfo they should be able to find the # and post it as well.

Here is the Bulletin - I really didn't think this was my problem. I knew about this bulletin for a long time before I had them try it. Whenever I went over a speed bump, I would hear something between a creak and a thud. It didn't seem to match the description but it certainly was the problem. Should have had it done a year earlier.
Hope this helps you resolve your problem.
Note - I deleted Figure 6 in the Bulletin which just shows the epoxy being mixed on a plate. I needed to make the file smaller because of the size limitation on the forum

Well no more noise on my car. Vehicle has 33K miles on the dash and the lower control arm was just shot. I'm going to go ahead and change the other one next week. But here is what I found today while changing out the first one today. Test drove it, all day after making the repairs and all is good.
