What should I expect to offer for an 08 with sports package?

I'm expanding my horizon and searching out of state.

http://www.lexusofhenderson.com/Vehi...-NV/1122832903

I contacted the dealer for some more info. It doesn't seem to have all the options, just the basic. I didn't notice a power trunk option, but it does have a backup camera. Everything else is standard.

They're asking $59.xxx KBB thinks it's worth $60k Edmund says $51k

I think I'm comfortable at around 52k... + tax + reg what do you think? given the facts that I won't have CPO warranty.

BTW: This is scary, not service history at all from any MB dealer? Shoudl I be afraid?

Take the VIN to your local dealer and ask for a full history.

Can someone look at this and see if I'm missing anything. It's the detail reports from the MB, the only option I see is Sports Package and the backup camera. Everything else is pretty much bare bone no automatic trunk closer etc...

Car
From what I see, there is:

Premium 2
Sport Package

I would avoid the car though; the seats look very worn and the center console as you see from the rear seat has a missing panel.

I don't have a W221 so I can't tell what's missing, which seat photos looks worn? Can you point them out? Thanks!

Yes, the rear seat looks completely destroyed; I think it was used as a limo for hire or something like that.

Car
If you can, I would try searching further out of the area for a car. Sometimes it's worth the drive. There are a lot more options when you search further. When I was searching for a BMW, I went 150 miles for a loaded BMW Individual 750Li. The only car I found similar to the car you are looking at is this:

I'm actually searching at 600 miles plus. I'm in San Francisco, the car is in vegas.

Do those leather straighten out after awhile if you don't use them? It's just my wife and I, no body ever sits back there.

600 miles is a biggie lol..Well I don't know exactly what to do with the leather, but most would try Leatherique on the seats (http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-P...r-care-how-to/)

Wow that's amazing, the price for these cars are just out of hands these days. I've changed my shopping condition from a want to a desperately want an S550 so I'm reaching as far as I could to find a white/tan with sports package and nothing else. I have a silver E class and Silver 5 series, almost 10 years of nothing but silver, it's time for a change.

The Leatherique will make them nice and clean but the leather is stretched; just like your shoes get after wearing them. In addition the foam is probably "squashed down". There is no easy fix short of getting new seat leather and padding installed.

I did a quick search and it seems some dealer actually replace defects under warranty.

Again, we don't have anyone sitting in the back, in time, the front will get equally bad. As long as it's not torned or faded I think I can live with a few stretch marks. Most wives have them and we learn to live with it.

Leatherique is great to clean and somewhat restore the appearance of cracked leather, but it won't do much about the stretches. May I suggest Botox? ;-)

They won't replace these seats, that's for sure. The bigger question is what exactly was happening on these seats to cause this kind of damage; probably not the kind of stuff I would like in my car.

I have no idea what you would need to do to get the front seats to this condition. This is very atypical wear, since the leather in the W221 is quite good and very durable. You may think you can handle it now, but you will surely regret it later; even though noone seats there, it still looks horrible. I would personally just wait for a car in a (much) better condition.

Looking at the seats, it looks like stretch marks from a baby car seat. With 30k miles I don't think a human body can create such stretch. I have 110k miles on my car and I don't even have a dent on the seats.

With the baby seat strapped down and in the Las Vegas desert heat I wanna bet that's what happened.

Service record shows to be pretty consistence with no major work done. I'm going to ask for more detail photos tomorrow when I talk to them.

Also, what's this missing piece in the center arm rest you guys are talking about? Can someone show me what it looks like so I can sound smart negotiating tomorrow? LOL

When looking forward from the rear seat, look at the bottom of the center console between the front seats (where the assembly meets the floor).

You mean where the power outlet is? So there's supposed to be a color matching cover over that right?

I've gone through the same decision, and it was the S550 all the way. It's enough to sit in the two to feel the difference.

I drove the LS460L first then right away went over to the S550 and drove it. You just can't beat that familiar feeling of the steering on a benz comparing it to the loose steering on the lexus. To be honest though, if the front end of the LS was any nicer, I'd probably get the LS460 just because of the warranty, realiability and service. I just hate it when I can't tell from an LS, ES or Camry just glancing at it from the front back.

08 S450 with AMG
Hey bud,

I just bought a 2008 S450 with 73,000KM's (abt 45K miles) with every option. Also has the AMG sport pak. I paid 49,000CDN dollars for it. So your offer around 50-52K is reasonable.

Good luck!

If we were to get a 2 door, I'd get a 911 instead but we like the looks of a 4 door.
