DRL's, confused as to which ones to buy?

I have a V221, 2007 and I really want to put the DRL's on the front bumper. My thing is, I have seen the Carlsson original plug and play going for £650 inc fitting at a Carlsson garage, and my first impression is that it is too much for lights, but if you want to put lights like that on an S Class, keep it authentic.

On the other hand, they are lights on ebay and various other sellers that are much cheaper, and I am tempted to go with them however I am sceptical about the quality and how to fit them, as I have been reading through and it seems it is not straight forward and affects the car electronics.

What do you guys think? If they are much cheaper DRLs worth getting which ones would you recommend and if anyone has done this in the UK successfully I'd appreciate a person/company.

Thanks in advance!

Which ones on ebay are you considering? Links as I may be interested in something different also. Thanks for sharing.

I am thinking of these:

Considering the L-shape lights, I have been told they are on the new S-class. What do you think?

The new S class don't have the L shape led. It's the new E class that has them.

That what I thought, what do you think about getting generic lights for the W221? Instead of top of the range Carlsson lights for $1000. Because sometimes I feel a bit funny about having cheap lights on a car that has not one cheap part.

Honestly, some aftermarket company makes really good DRL's. I just didn't look into them yet. I have seen a few on cars around my area and it looks just like the ones from factory(lit up).

True, I have to find the right one! From what I can say they are more readily available in the states then the UK.

What if I bought original Merc DRL's for the 2011 and retrofitted them for the 07? Anyone done this already?

DRL's have been fitted but they still don't work properly. What kind of resistors do I need?

Guys at the local garage have tried different resistors but still can't get them to work properly. Yesterday they worked fine for 20 minutes and then other side started blinking. What resistors have you guys used?

I use this one: http://www.ekstralys.no/products/pp-motstand-2-stk-

Works 100%. It's in Norway, but I reckon you find the same type on eBay.
