I have no clue which version you have but I think there is only long version in the US. Not sure though..And remeber that the aftermarket ones DO NOT look like the original ones you see in this thread.

you should look out for the long versions and resale them here for the usa members. i'm sure people would be happy to take it with some handling charges.

If you are going to use the Mercedes OEM sills, as I did, half of the interior has to come out in order to fit the sills wiring harness. It ended up taking me a full 2 days, working about 6-8hrs./day. I am not a car mechanic though, just a perfectionist, so for those that are more skilled it might take half that time. It took another full day just to find the install instructions. Turns out you need to pay $15/day to access to them. They are located on the Mercedes StarTek site (FYI the portion of the site that contains the instructions is not Mac compatible, you must use a PC).
Once you have access to the site, the Door Sills install guide refers you to many separate sets of instructions (rear seat removal, SAM removal, disconnection of the battery, etc.). You DO NOT need to do every step it spells out. Specifically I did not disconnect the battery and the rear SAM, nor did I need to take apart the entire B-pillar, just the lower portion.
If anyone is taking on this project feel free to PM me for any questions. I was planning on doing my first write up on this project, but it got so involved that it would have taken at least 10 pages and I was too lazy after spending the weekend in my garage.
You got PM...

That is because I didnt know it until I installed them...The 4 converters did not work on mine and another member here who bought them from ebay member agomdalal and the converters can NOT be bought separatly. This kit also misses the control box needed in the trunk.

Hmmm thats the guy I got mine from

I got the 4 converters with no official MB numbers or anything on them, wiring harness and the 4 sills...

Is there any way to test them outsidd of the car with a direct power source or anything? Want to test them ASAP so I can get a paypal claim started if needed..

Well, the only way is to get the the control box for the trunk. Conect the brown/red cable under the passanger seat and get 12+ to it and ground it. Open the door and see.

I have emailed him and asked hiw to STOP selling them since they dont work but he sells them and sells them and he KNOWS they dont work and are not complete. I wonder where he gets them all?

I also confronted MB about these converters and they DONT sell them. And if you get a full kit and one of the converters stops working(happens) you MUST buy a hole new kit. SO STUPID!!!

The control unit for the trunk( number 11 in the manual which I assume you have aswell) can you buy that seperately or?? I just checked the ebay auction now and he is smart actually, it doesnt say anything about it being a complete kit.. Just sills, wires and 4 converters so its gonna be a fun fight with paypal I think
