Help! Removal / Repair Dash Air Vents s550?
Hello -
I need some help.
Due to an "incident" with a pair of ski's and my teenage son...the details are not really important...grrrrrrr..... I need to disassemble my s550 ac/heater vent in the center of the dash (the one with the analog clock between the two vents. The one on the right side of the clock is damaged, or at least bent. I am not sure how to remove the vent so that I can either fix or replace it.
Can anyone help me with the steps/details on how to go about this dissassembly?
Thanks to all in advance !

Wow, perfect....do I read this correctly that on the "how to remove trim strip" pdf, the "air nozzle" shown as part number "2" simply unclips and pops up off the top of the instrument panel area...i.e. no screws or bolts to retain, just pressure clips?
Thanks to all...I will take a look this weekend and see if I can get this fixed. You guys are great !

Quick update...thanks to all you guys for the help....I (finally) got around to pulling it apart and fixing it tongiht. It took about 2.5 hours. In the end, did have to take the whole wood trim piece off and remove the center air-vent and clock assembly to get inside, but was able to find all the pieces and reassemble the vent diffusers...all is well !!!!
Many thanks again !

Sorry, I didn't think to take pictures, I can give you the steps...it was straight forward...the pdf's from Diezel Benz helped.
1) First, pry up the cover/vent that sits above the clock/vents, etc and in front of the COMAND screen...I inserted a nylon scraper to avoid scratching the wood. I started right above the clock and moved out toward the drivers door. NOTE -
There is a screw centered above the clock once you have the piece loose and are begining to remove, you need to unscrew this before removing the cover from the dash...I didn't see it and broke the tab...doesn't seem to be a big deal however. (This screw has to come out to release the trim piece even if you break the tab to the cover as I did.)
2) Open the covers at both ends of the dash (by the doors)....torx screw holding the end of the wood trim piece in place. Once these are removed, I worked from outside toward center of dash pulling gently until the clips released....these are the same type of clip that holds the end-covers on the dash...just so you kind of know what you are pulling on.
3) Once all the clips are loose, you need to rotate the trim piece toward you so you can unclip the 5 electrical connectors AND the insert clip that holds the cable harness to the trim piece. Most of the connectors are the kind with a small clip to push in while you pull out the plug. The largest one has a light gray clip on the black connector...rotate the gray clip toward the drivers door (counter clockwise) and it will release and extract the connector plug.
4) The whole assy can be removed at this point and you can get to the vent assy, the control panel for the air/heater, and even the analog clock if you needed to.
5) After finished, I just replaced the whole thing by reversing the steps.
Hope this helps?
