2010 S550 parking sensors / blind spot assist
Hi...I'm hoping someone can help.
This is my first Mercedes Benz I've owned and proud to say that I just bought my 2010 S550 on Saturday 3-24-2012.
When parking, I noticed that the vehicle does not give an audible beeping sound either from the front or rear sensors when I start to get close to an object. I confirmed that the radar sensors are turned on, but yet still get nothing.
Also...when I turn on the blind spot assist feature, both the driver and passenger side remain lit with an orange color on both mirrors even though the owners manual says they should be red, whether a vehicle is next to me either while parked or driving.
I would appreciate any assistance.
Thank you...Sal

Parking sensors start beeping when your about to hit something, lol. Drives me insane, I hope they are programmable, so they would start beeping earlier, not when there's like 10 cm from the object... Have you tried getting really close to something? Otherwise if they don't beep at all, I would suggest you to visit your dealer.
About the blind spots. When your driving below 30 km/h, then they are yellow. If you start driving faster, they will completely turn off and NOW when somebody IS in your blind spot, they will turn red. Otherwise when parking they are yellow. Again, if the yellow light doesn't disappear when driving - check your dealer.

I appreciate your response...thank you.
I haven't gotten that close to something yet while I'm parking, but I will try it today.
As far as the blind spot assist....I just want to confirm that it is normal for both mirror lights to illuminate and stay on while parked, parking or driving below 30km/h? correct?
