BUYING AN 07 S550 POSSIBLY TOMORROW!
hello im an quite excited on a possible s550 purchase tomorrow.
im looking at one with 60k miles in dark blue, additionally with a warranty for $2500 for 3 years.
anything i need to look out for when i test drive this?
im leaving my range rover behing, ive always had suv'sin my lifetime...navigator to escalade to range rover, now im going to the MB family.
i love the look of the car and plan on upgrading the tail lights asap, and rims in a few months.
also with my range rover i experienced electrical glitches, any known problems with these s550's? (either way i will have warranty)

can you go into details?
they said that the warranty associated with the vehicle would allow the repairs to be done at a MB dealership, although the actual car is NOT for sale at a MB dealership...

I would tend to stay away from getting S class from non MB dealer. They try to make sure the car is in good shape in order to maintain reputation if nothing else. As last resort I would go with a major reputable dealer like Motorworks here in Chicago land.

Excellent choice to get a W221 it is a great car !!
But:
I have waited until I found one with the options that I wanted and bought from an MB dealership.With MB-warranty.
At least you will have the correct history for the car and peace of mind..

I bought my car from a non dealer and bought a after market warranty from NAC pinnacle status almost as good as the Mercedes warranty.
The car has 43000 Miles,designo edition and and almost all options ,new price was $100500.00
I paid $35K and $2800.00 for 4 years or 50K miles.
The same car would have been over $42K + $5000.00 for the warranty at the dealer ,that is something to consider

2007 S550
I bought my MB from a private party. It did not have warranty but I took it to my local MB dealer and they gave a third party warranty. They said because my car was an 2007 and that it was out of warranty that they can only get me into a third party warranty but all the work would be done by MB. It Cost me 2,400 for three years or 30000 miles. The only things it does not cover are normal wear and tear items. Bought my s550 with 41000 miles and I love it. I had a a8 and by far my MB is so much better. Will never go back. Just my opinion.

I got a price for an extended MB warranty for one of my MLs at a different dealership which gave a great discount at the time. The vehicle didn't have to be purchased there. As it happens I took that quote to my local dealer and they matched it.
There are restrictions that may stop you getting the MB extended warranty. It may be a problem already being out of the original 50K/4 year warranty, and not a Certified Previously Owned vehicle (CPO)..

car sold the night before. Had the title in hand and everything from my range... I'm still bummed, they tried to put me in a 07 with 89k miles for 35 I was not having it.
I've located a borolo red one nearby with 56k miles, I'm checking it out tomorrow.
I'm tired of my range I want an s really bad now. Just need to be patient I guess. My options are red, black, blue....seems grey/silver are much much easier to locate and also cheaper in price.

If you are intrested i have a 08 s550 4matic sport.It just turned 50k.I bought new. Has 20" Avarus chrome wheels with new rubber,also come with the 19"sport wheels with Blizzak winter tires mounted.This car is perfect.My dealer has offered me 46K...i turned him down,car should bring 50k in this condition with the extra set of wheels....car is white with cashmier int.

What ever you do do not jump in and go on an impulse buy. When i was looking It took me over 6 months and Im glad I was patient. In the end I found exactly what I was looking for and cheaper.
