Someone here must know - camera wiring??!!
I have been searching and searching to find out how my reverse camera (MB OEM) fits into my 2007 CL500 (W216) cars wiring.
There are three OEM BM parts - a camera (A2218200397)- which plugs into a module (A2218708326) that sits in the trunk and then a wiring loom (a2215102710)
There are power and earth cables for the unit(s) in the trunk - I know this as they are not very long at all) and then there is a plug (two wires) plus two wires with pins on the end (see attached)...
Where do these pins and plug plug into - the wiring seems long enough for them to reach the back of the command unit...but I just dont know how to connect them in. One of the pinned wires has 3158 and is gold with clear insulation, the other has no markings but has a silver colour wire inside a clear insulation
I know I'm going to have to pay for re-coding - my car does have 230 - Parking Assistance on it - but I need to keep costs as low as possible - please help!!!!

The transparent wire goes to contact cavity 7 on the 20 pin COMAND connector. The screening line goes to cavity 17.
Then you have the interior CAN wires and one to the voltage distributor X30/32.

awesome info, I’m trying to add a oem camera on my w221 year 2008. I have the OEM camera with the wiring to the trunk area and I see the modules online but any idea where I can purchase the wiring to the head unit? Thanks

the part number is above your post 2215402710 it will be expensive and hard to come by being a special order no merc dealer will be interested in following up
its only missing a bit of shielded cable ( if you did everything else already) you can run it up the inside of the centre console
don't ever listen to people on the internet...
FYI if you have the early aluminium camera and the early iPod kit the night assist element of the camera stops working, if you get the ultra rare later ipod kit with a different loom it works again but takes a split second longer to pop up on selecting reverse
