2007 Mercedes S550
Jack popped out from under car
On my S550, I was jacking my right front wheel off the ground with factory screw jack; flat concrete driveway, chocked wheels, etc. Jack popped out and car dropped to frame. The jack was firmly seated in the jack base of the car.
Jack appears undamaged, but body of car is damaged. The wrecker driver said he had never seen such a case and that I should contact Mercedes.
Anyone have this issue?

I havent has this issue before, because the moment i saw the original jack i was like "hell no, i am not using that". It looked to dangerous at the beginning. Dont understand why mercedes would make jack like this, especially for such a big and heavy car like an S. You should call mercedes of usa and complain to them.

well now i can add something more. neither mercedes usa in new jersey, nor alex rodriguez mercedes dealer in houston even cares to hear or see the issue. amazingly no concern whatsoever. in fact, i was told 'we wouldn't use the stock jack anyhow, we use jacks with a broader base'. not exactly the answer i would expect from mercedes, maker of one of the finest engineered autos in the world. please spread the word - DO NOT use the stock jacks. never, not even under garage-like conditions, and most certainly not on the roadside.

This is such crap. It it doesn't work on a nice even driveway what are you supposed to do on the side of the road other than call roadside assistance or use fix a flat. I did have my 190E go down of the factory jack but to be fair the was a bit of an incline to the driveway.
