HELP!! Turned car off but sounds like motors running!!
I just got home parked in my driveway and turned my s550 off, started heading to my door as i noticed a sound coming from my car. Definitely a motor running but i can't seem to understand this one. 39k miles on the speedo. Any Techs out there? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Posted a clip so you can see for yourself. there must be an explanation

At first i was thinking it was pump related so i raised the vehicle for a minute circled the block then lowered it but when i turned the car off the sound continued. After a good 20 minute give/take wait now it has stopped or just gotten really quiet

This is easy. It is the secondary airpump that runs because your relay is broken. It is a cheap and easy swap. The only concern is that the pump can take damage also and that is expensive though. Change the releay and see if the pump works. If not I have one used layning around to help you out a bit cheaper. it is NOT airsupsension like in the link to ebay.

It is located here:
Just take of the plastic cover and unplug the conector so the pump dont get damaged. You can still drive the car without any problems at all. You just get a worse exhaust cleaning. Put in the new relay and contect the pump again. Did this on mine and it is a VERY known and comon problem.

what do you guys suggest i do? car is sitting in my driveway since last night and is not making any unusual noise now. Im planning to meet up with AMG northeast on saturday at my MB service center so I'm gonna try to cling on for dear life and pray i make it okay until saturday when a tech can look under my hood.
Chris thank you for chiming in you always seem to save the day one way or another.

You can drive it at usual if you just take out the conector to the airpump. If you still have warranty you must let it sit till they can chek it or you risk to ruin the pump.

took it to mercedes this morning when i had the airmatic malfunction light come up on my dash 5 minutes into my first ride of the day. They said my pump wasn't working...replaced compressor and relay. Work,Labor, & tax = $913.00
Expensive day. Thinking about selling for something AMG
