My s63 conversion

As some of you may know my car was keyed. I decided to use this as an opportunity to do a complete paint job and purchase the s63 bodykit. I purchased the kit from Gary@Suvneer as recommended from other members of the forum. Thank You for paving the way

I will continue to post pictures and take u guys through the process
I purchased Sprint-booster, 8000k HID, LED parking lights, and Command/nav v.11 update,s63 tips,s65 grille,
and my 11' oem taillight was chipped so then i bought aftermarket tails (No more code on the dash!)

First steps at my body shop , taking off the old bumpers and headlights.
Awaiting complete paint job

No its the easiest mod to do to your car. Simply put it in slot 1 of your CD drive and it will load automatically. Pm me your paypal if you want it & i can have it shipped out in the morning.

You will need to go to the dealer to do the FULL update. The nav disc only updates the map.And not the command software.

65 style grille & 63 tips just arrived ... I am going to stop by the body shop tomorrow, hopefully my car is in the final stages. I also bought a flat "Affalterbach" hood badge and some AMG pedals from jbspeed. I haven't installed my sprint booster yet so i will do the pedals and the booster in the same shot. BTW, wish i didn't jump the gun and order these pedals even though i only spent $50, from my understanding you can switch the oem covers and accelerator pedal for about the same price (But no AMG logo)

Just to give you a heads up, you may have issues with the hood pull release with the new grille unless you got a new one with the grille. The issue is that the vertical supports on the back of the grille may obstruct the clearance of the hood pull. Some suggest triming the pull.

Thanks for the heads up, I did some reading before ordering the grille but luckily it came with a new one

Car should be all done tomorrow
regarding the DRL did you end up purchasing any of the resistors?
Will i have a problem if i try to wire it straight up to the side-markers?
Thanks in advance

No need for a resistor, they were wired straight to the side markers with no issues.

I was anxious wondering if I would have a smooth install. I cant want wait any longer, I am beyond excited to see the finished product
The owner of my body shop is going to be so happy today when the job is complete, ...primarily because he won't have to put up with me harassing him about every detail of my car anymore

Yeah I know the feeling, was the same way. I remember the first day I drove it to work (around 5:00AM), some guy chased me done for about 10 miles, all because he want to see the because he didn't know which model it was.

Teaser Pic

I know i said it would be done yesterday but my shop keeps pushing back the deadline on me ... not a happy camper

Heres a teaser ...just so you can get an idea
My s63 conversion-image.jpg
So far i have run into 2 issues, I can't get my DRL to light up, just blink ...do i need to buy the resistors?

Also the kit looks nice but my shop said it is not 100% because for instance my headlight washer cap is a little flimsy and doesn't completely clip into place tightly

Otherwise very happy

Sorry to hear that it's not ready and if the DRLs are flashing, it sounds like they wired them to the fog lights not the side markers. The fog lights are low voltage so you definitely can't just wire them to them. You may want them to check that. The care is looking good, did they install the tips for you as well?

I think they wired them to the side-markers but the owner wasn't there and the workers didn't speak much english. Did you leave your side markers plugged in behind the bumpers or you took them out?

My s550 was not AMG sport package so i don't know if that makes a difference , should be the same voltage if not i will have to buy the resistors wherever i could find them

for the exhaust i am taking it to a well-known shop to weld on the tips and delete the resonator & secondary cat

That's sweet but you should also upgrade your mirrors to the present styling

I'm not sure if they left the side markers hooked up, but I will check when I get home this evening. I know when they attempted to wire the DRLs to the fog loghts they just kept flashing and didn't stay on. I know Phatisfy used resistors on his DRLs, you may want to check his thread and send him a PM.

I think when you wire them to the marker lights, you still have to keep the bulbs in the socket to maintain the 12v draw.
