bluetooth+android issue

I actually have a 2008 CL but I figured the S forum has more activity. I have a sony experia ion running ice cream sandwich. It pairs fine with the MB phone system and the phone/bluetooth works great making calls. I always leave bluetooth on and when I start the car, it connects without issue. Problem is that the phone "timesout" after a little bit (maybe 5 minutes?) and disconnects from the car while I'm driving. If I turn the bluetooth on/off then it works again. I think this is an ICS issue but any S/CL drivers know a workout for this? I remember on my non smartphones there was like a keep connection alive type option but I dont see that on the xperia. Thanks!

Wow thanks for the post. I don't have any problem with my iPhone. Will keep this in mind when I purchase my next phone.

I think it has to do with the screen shutting off from idle and the bluetooth stack going into standby (which is odd b/c it should in theory treat the MB BT like a headset). It "looked" like it was working a bit longer last night but then it shut off again. I may have to tweak the settings.

I had an annoying bluetooth problem with my android (Samsung),which I recently fixed (thanks to a post on this forum) which may have the same root cause as yours.Search my posts and you'll find it before too long...I'm too busy right now to explain it or to do the search myself, sorry.

Looks like its a known Sony issue based on their forums. Purchased a SG III, no problems.
