post some links to how you found the parts and everything that is needed for the install. And you will need that "part 11" they are referring to that is body colored that sits under the diffuser right right?
In addition to the rear exhaust mod, has anyone gone with the front bumper mod. I have seen plenty of the 08 AMG led running light version that have the "rectangle" running light that sits directly under the body, but i am referring to the look with the non-amg i think 10+ style that has the running light led "streak" that runs across in the middle of the old fog light design. Who has pictures and information on this mod? the standard more modern style rather than the amg style ..........????
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
If you have this you should see 2 stainless exhaust tips on your car with a black lower surrounding that can be replaced with the double wide opening for AMG Exhaust. The non-sport package/AMG version don't even have cutouts in the bumper for the exhaust tips. You need a complete Sport package or AMG bumper in that case.
I just did the diffuser on my 2010 from base to S63/65. It required two pieces, a lower panel (what everyone refers to as the diffuser) and then a body colored finish panel that goes into the center. The diffuser and finish panel both snap into the bumper with plastic tabs, no tools required. Both parts were around $230. I also installed an aftermarket muffler and quad tip set up, but if you wanted to leave the stock mufflers and just do the square tips, those are on Ebay for around $285 (replicas).
I believe it's the same process on a 2007 but you'd want the lower panel and center panel for the 07-09. I used the EPC and a VIN from a 2010 S63 to verify the diffuser part numbers. I'll run an 07 S65 and post those part numbers.
The lower panel (the piece in the lower bumper with the exhaust cut outs) is available from Rock Auto for $109, their part # is MB1115101. The center filler is MB2218853225.
Should be a snap on part on a car that already has an AMG appearance package rear bumper. Just note that on the 2010, the exhaust tips aren't actually attached to the tail pipes. They attach to the rear bumper and the pipes sort of float inside. As a result, when you remove the tips, you're still left with the brackets, which have to be cut back so they don't peek out of the larger openings in the new diffuser.
The new tips (if you're just doing the cosmetic part) will need to be welded to the existing tailpipes.
Also, the diffuser has two mounting tabs on the bottom that secure the lower edge to the bumper. The new diffuser's tabs will not line up with the bumper's receiving slots. It took a little extra work to secure the lower edge.

That's the original bumper with just the lower panel (diffuser) swapped out plus the required center filler panel.
