Question s65 diffuser for 07 s550

Just wondering if anyone knows where I can get one? I want to change just the diffuser and then install the s65 exhaust tips. I found one on eBay but it's carbon fibre which I don't want and he said it only fits the facelift 09+ model. Can anyone give me some info?

Like you just want the stock plastic one with the painted trim on the bottom? Or you want a carbon fiber one? Anyways, if you want the stock plastic one found on the S65/63 you can just order that one piece from the dealer and swap out with your 550 diffuser.

Wouldn't the dealer be really expensive?

I got mine from dealership for around $500, you can buy the diffuser from parts.com for around $400.

http://www.parts.com/parts/2007/MERC...iagram=5892770

I believe you need #10 and #11 in the diagram

s550
Will be picking up a 2007 s550 with the amg bodykit and looking to do a facelift when i get my car but would like to go the opposite direction as opposed to the majority of folks. Opting for the 2010 s550 sport look rather than the famous s63 look.
As such, I want the 2010 s550 sport single exhaust on each side. So, does anyone know if a 2010 s550 sport diffuser be a plug n play replacement for a 2007 amg sport s550?

So basically piece 10 & 11 consist of the grey plastic with the quad exhaust cutouts and the other piece is the body colored one that sits in the middle?

604benz have you done the upgrade on your car too?

i saw a 2012 s63 bumper on ebay from gymcar for like 850 plus install plus exhaust tips

it makes more sense to buy the diffuser for 400 and the tips on ebay for 400.

I did the upgrade to the S65 rear look with full S65 exhaust, it sounds really good and performance seems alot better than stock exhaust.

+ if you know the exact part-numbers what you need ( ie S63 or S65 )from epc and order online, then you do not need any vin as the dealer will give you the exact parts that are already installed on your car :-)

I upgraded my 07 S550 about 2 years ago with the full S65 front and rear bumpers, the rear diffuser with wide opening for S65/63 exhausts, but I actually bought the full S65 Exhaust, not the tips. Sounds amazing on the V8.

The diffuser was about $450, but there's a skin that mounts on top of the diffuser that costs an additional $275. If you can find a carbon one, might be worth it.

Good luck!

So the "skin" that you are referring to is the one that is the visible part that has the indents and curves around the tips on top, right? is that the one that is #11 on this: http://www.parts.com/parts/2007/MERC...iagram=5892770

cant i just simply cut out other part thats underneath, the item #10 on the diagram? it would simply be covered by the insert.

Looks like the right part. #11.

#11 is not needed unless you want it to look stock. #10 is needed and locks in place around the exhaust. 11 will not work without 10.
You can just use 10 and have it painted flat black or carbon wrap, etc... without 11 if you want.

Keep in mind... #10 has a lower piece that is exposed and is supposed to be color matched to your car. You can see pics on my conversion link.

Post pics when you complete the conversion!
