Extended Warranty Advice?

Extended Warranty Advice?
I have a 2008 S550 with 28,500 miles. The warranty is up at the 3 year mark which is next week. The local dealer (from whom I did not purchase the car, but currently services the car) is offering me 3yrs/30K for $2772 plus tax with a $100 deductible, ordinary wear and tear excluded. The warranty company is Caregard which appears to be very reputable. A 4yr/70K is $3910 plus tax, same deductible and ordinary exclusions. I only put 8-9K miles/yr on the car, but do worry about the electronics on the car. Already had issues with the climate control etc. Can anyone advise as to whether the price is good and even if its not, whether I should purchase it?

I'm not quite sure I understand how the CPO warranty works. I bought the car through a private sale and had the manufacturer's 4yr/48K(?) original warranty. What would I be asking for with a CPO? I did ask the dealer if the warranty company/dealer would waive the $100 deductible if I agreed to use that dealer only, but the answer was no. Not sure how much negotiating room I have because I really have not done enough research. In addition, the dealer tells me that caregard has an excellent reputation. Not a big fan of extended warranties, but truly worried about the extent to which the S class electronics are sophisticated and likely to break/fail.

your warranty
does usaa cover the struts or shocks that control the air ride? Alot of warranty companies wont cover these, and they cost about 1800 each.

I bought a 4yr/48k from GM for $3600 - supposedly they have real good aftermarket warranties. I've only used it once for my sunroof and they approved $2k worth of repairs rather quickly. My dealer just called them up and worked it all out directly with them.
