Wheel Barrel Replacement due to onept8tee
Well it is my fault for trusting everyone thoroughly on this forum. Bought some 21" rims that were promised to be good, went to go powder coat them at turns our that 1 of the wheels had 4 cracks in the inner barrel 1 of the TMPS sensors were bad and 2 of the tires were cracking. Once again my fault for not being thorough. That being said anyone know a good spot in so cal that can replace wheels barrels. Due to modsport becoming modulare and these style wheels being discontinued, I dont know that I can get this fixed. Need some recommendations from the forums please so I feel like I didnt just waste $2300 for 3 wheels :[ Thanks.

i don't think you were the one that got hosed....at that price the SELLER got hosed! how much is a wheel barrel? $200-250? TPMS sensor? $70?

i'm going to assume that these are 2-piece wheels. so all you have to do is find out the rivet count, which should be 40 (or something near that). find out the width and order a barrel from one of the many wheel companies in so cal , ie: i forged, dpe, vip modular, etc etc. (all the vendors purchase from the same barrel distributors....some order better quality than others, but all you care about right now is getting the correct size and width. they are pretty much universal. your wheel center will bolt right up perfectly to it.)
you should be paying right around $200-250 for the barrel. If it is an asian made barrel, maybe even cheaper.
since you were going to powdercoat the wheels, they would have to be disassembled anyways.
i can help you locate a barrel. i just need some specs: wheel width (since it's the front wheel , it will either be a 21x9 or 21x9.5. and i need the lip size.) get me these 2 pieces of info and i can help you locate a barrel.

Agreed, I just replaced my inner barrels from my DCR wheels last month. DCR been out of business for ages now. Heck I even had centers replaced when they were discontinued, most wheel designs are just cad files that are uploaded to a CNC. You need to find the right people is all, don't give up.

When I bought them, the ad said 21x8.5. After measuring its more of a 21x9 and lip size is 2.5 inches any help would be appreciated. The rivet count is actually 30 but one of the rivets is where the valve stem is so techinically 29???

You'll have to get your hands a little dirty and do the research yourself. Count the rivets as "OPALW208" mentioned and you'll have to do some searching around online to see which companies use the same number of rivet holes. Contact them then specifically ask to purchase the barrels in the dimensions (width of barrel & diameter) and hole count that you have found out. Refrain from mentioning the brand of wheel you're putting them on.
btw, wheel widths are measured from the inside of the lip, not to the lip's edge.
