My insurance first valued the damage at 3k, then I took it to a certified Mercedes repair shop and they added an additional 16k, and now they're telling me they need an additional 10k.

This would make my car a total loss. There is no frame damage or damage to the engine. I had a buddy of mine who is a mechanic take a look at the 19k repair bill, and he said they're replacing everything they can to make money, pretty much the whole front end of the car. They're even charging for nuts and bolts.

Is there anything I can do to still keep the car and not have it be a total loss?

When I hit the center divide wall on the freeway at 80 mph with the front quarter of my car (everything from left front wheel to half of the center grill was damaged, hood itself wasn't too bad but it was bent. Also to note, I landed 3 direct hits approximately in the same area, damage was about 40k and insurance covered it.

Your picture doesn't even look that bad. Can you report other damages or pictures too? Were you able to drive it off without any message on the display? Any noise if you were able to drive it off? 30k is a lot for what you're reporting.

the car wasnt driveable bnecause the radiator was bent. The reason I didnt want it totaled is because it was a rare color (Majestic Black) with a beige interior. Its hard to find anything similar to that with a sport package on the market.

Plus the damage isnt bad at all. The problem is the dealership wants to change everything on the car (more profit for them). As you guys know, parts for a car like that are pretty expensive, just the rim and tire are costing 2k to replace.

If the $30,000 estimate makes it a total, how would the dealership profit? Total...no repair...no profit.

I don't think the dealers look for maximum profit, but rather to make the cart as close to new as possible so they don't have issues later.

Auto collision repair seems to be like medical care. People expect perfection but don't want to pay for it.
