Just Ordered v12 of Navigation Disk
I received an email from Mercedes that a new version of the Navigation Disk (v12) was available for my 2007 s550 and ordered it. It should be here by the end of the week.
Send me a PM if you want to know what's new - I should have it installed in my car by the weekend.

Other than the usual updates to the roads and POI's, I don't see anything glaringly new.
I've only had it installed for a short while, but I did think that the display has minor changes. The street name to turn on to shows up on a narrow strip on top of the display as you get near. Perhaps it's me, but I don't remember this being the case on the previous version.

You are absolutely correct Steven. I am getting senile.
Two new things in this version (besides the usual updates):
- Brand Icon POIs - Provides an additional option of visual POIs via Brand Icons displayed on map
- Traffic Patterns - Allows the navigation system to find a faster route.

If Mercedes had a reasonable cost on the update maybe nobody would want to rent the update. When you can buy a complete GPS with latest updates for less than $100.00 why is a Mercedes update $249.95?

Help! NAV update v.13 (#A221 827 09 65) doesn't work on my 2008 W221 S63
I have the "Navigation DVD for COMAND Digital Road Map for the United States" for S-Class (MY07-MY09).
When I turned on the car and booted up the DVD in Changer Slot #1 (as instructed), the DVD eventually ejected within 1 minute because COMAND couldn't recognize the audio/video format.
I turned off the car, turned it back on (without the DVD), hit "NAVI", and COMAND displayed "Software updated. Please insert MAP update."
Have any of you seen something similar?
