Well being that they dont suggest you stagger the 4matic SClass, I wouldn't do Anything wider than 9.

On the 4matic, the 19" amg are 19x9.5 and the 20" amg are 20x8.5

20x9 all around to be safe.
Better yet, add a set of 20-25mm spacers in the rear to flush the fenders.
20x9 with 35+ off set all around. With spacers that will make this set up as:
20x9 +35 with 255/35/20 tire
20x9 +35 with 20-25mm spacers = 20x10 +15-20 with 255/35/20 tire
Very doable

Based on personal experience I'd avoid the spacers if at all possible. Since you're going to replace the wheels anyway, if you want a nicer stance just choose wheels with a +35 offset. It's the most common aftermarket wheel offset so you'll have a lot to choose from. (Based on personal experience I'd also suggest not deviating from the factory offsets either, but I know I'm never going to win that battle )

I was thinking about 20x10.5 all around with 255 or 245 I want the wheels to sit as flush as possible with the fenders. these are +40 offset. What do you guys think?

20X10.5 is much too wide for front wheels and too wide for the tire sizes that you have indicated as well.

+40 is still safe as far as offset goes. Not sure how that much width up front might increase steering effort or lead to early inside wear. Since the set up is square I guess you could just rotate them more often.

See how far the edge of the front rim sits away from the tire? You'd want to go with a 10" or 9.5" to avoid that. Not only does it look terrible IMO, there's zero protection for curb rash. Love those CV3's though.

Well, I'm not sure how to advise you. I understand the desire for the aesthetic of a really fat 20" tire and a drop. The car in the pic looks bad ***. But I guarantee that thing rides like hell, handles like hell. and probably goes through tires quickly too. It's a question of how much in terms of ride quality you're willing to trade for the look. (My definition of poor ride quality may not be the same as yours.)

As for fitment, theoretically a 20" wheel with a 40+ offset will fit the car, but I'm not sure how wide you can go up front without getting into clearance issues. At 40+ you're already 4mm closer to the fender lip. At 10.5" wide you're an additional inch closer to the fender lip (and an inch closer to the strut on the back side) than OEM.

If the rims in the pic are 10.5" it looks like they need at least another 10mm in tread width to position the sidewalls where they're supposed to be. Clearance may be the reason those front tires aren't wider.

The only way to know for sure to confirm everything will fit and run without problems unfortunately is to buy the wheels and try them out. Could be an expensive experiment, though.

OK I see your dilemma, you want to keep all wheels the same size as per MB spec for the S550 4matic and also have a wider appearance. Just use spacers bro. If you do 255X35X20 Just go with the 9 or at most 9.5 because once you mount the wheels they are yours, and like Mike said you would be stretching that tire out to the point of no sidewall protection with a 10.5.
Also I wouldnt do any wider a tire especially on the fronts since you're doing all the same around.

yea guys exactly I want fat tires in the rear so that when you look from the rear you dont see a big body benz with some skinny tires. Can I run fatter tire in rear and thinner up front if the overall diameter is very close to the same?

Honestly, you can stagger but the offset has to be perfect. However, MB will never suggest that it is ok for the S550. IDK y because the C and CLS both offer 4matics with staggered wheel set up from factory.

Really? I didn't even know that about the CLS and C. I might as well go with 20x9 front and 20x10.5 rear so that I can run a fat ture in rear and a good tire in the front right?

I think that's your best bet. A staggered fitment is okay as long as there is less than a 3% rolling diameter between the front and rear axles. Just remember that the sidewall number on a tire is a percentage of the width. So a 265/30 will have a greater rolling diameter than a 245/30. even though both have a "30" sidewall profile. You'll have to play around on that 1010tire.com link mixing front and rear widths and profiles until you're in that 3% margin.

Ok so I looked into it and I can do the 20x10.5 all around running a 245/35 up front and 275/30 and the diameter variance is -0.96% which will work the only problem is that the front tire will stretch more than the rear and this will cause diameter to be a bit off.

You're better off just staggering the wheels and using that tire size. Are you planning on going with OEM or aftermarket?

Aftermarket wheels, but I will loose concave deepness on the front which is what I would like to keep. Do you think I will be able to fit 275/30 in the front? or will that be way too wide? cause I know the back will work. Or maybe 265/35??? I dont want to go 245 in the rear that is whats bugging me the most

I would go with 9x20 255 35 font and 10,5x20 295 30 back and you have
the same diameter within one milimeter.

What about www.concavowheels.com still very concave in 9x20.

Those are some good sizes but however will the car go low enough with a 295 in rear?
