I bought another W221 as well. The W222 looks too similar to the other classes. When you look at the from the front and have to wait to see the rest of the car to know if it's an S, C etc...that says it all...just my opinion. :-) I mean yes, you can tell the difference but it's too close for me...the W221 is classic and classy and can't be mistaken.
Just wanted to update. The car is still running great and is incredible. I still don't like the exterior of the w222. Too japanese feminine to me. Actually, as soon as I first saw the w222, I rushed out to find the perfect w221.
It's funny you say that especially considering the W221 was primarily designed in MBs Tokyo, Japan Design studio in the early '00s. The W222 was not. Very clean W221 you have, by the way.

W222 looks like C-Class from distance, or E-Class. Stupid move in styling by Mercedes in my opinion. They went to what BMW now is getting away from.
W221 is one of the best looking cars on the road for a big sedan.
I said that long ago....you have to 2nd guess if it's realy a W222. There is no mistaking the W221. The W222 is a nice car but the similarities to the other classes is "too similar".

Yes, I agree albeit there's nothing wrong with the W205 C Class styling wise ,I have a few times mistaken those two cars between each other ,namely tail lights are too alike

Hi Jason, I see that your car is a 4Matic but you have 20's on. How is the ride quality with the 20's? Also what offset rims and tires did you go with?? I realize that the rolling circumference have to be close on these 4Matics not to have any issues but how close?? Some people say anything under 3% and some say anything under 2%....Any help you can offer, will be greatly appreciated!
I read your thread quite a while ago then last year I was luck enough to fine this superb specimen (2011 S350L). It has just 45k miles and has been serviced by MB Main Dealer every year. Some nice options including Distronic Plus, Passion Leather, Reclining Rear Seats, Harman Kardon with Splitview screen etc.
I have to say that I also prefer W221 styling over W223 regardless of the latter's tech galore accessories
Yes, agree. And that's why I'm keeping this car. It's a rooling safe on wheels.

Glad you are still enjoying it. There is something about the w221 that has always drawn me to them. The w222 are nice and have some great interiors and technology. While I like the body of the w22 ok, I love the w221, timeless.
