New to me S550... Diamond white/black/amg/pano, etc. Pics!

W140 Mercedes S350, W221 S550 sport
I've grown up with S class Mercdes since 1978 and I've watched the quality go down on these cars over the years. To me, the last true S class was the W140 (Princess Diana car) which had that "tank like" commanding feeling, like a vault on wheels. After the w140, the w220 came out, and that feeling was lost to me. They lightened the car some 800 pounds, etc. to compete with Lexus. Mercedes lost some of their roots. The w220 just couldn't do what we were used to and we jumped ship. Lexus, Infiniti, etc. There are many articles that compare the w221 to the w140.
The W221 was the only car since the w140 that went back to those roots. This car weighs almost the same as the w140 and that feeling you get when driving is back. I've been waiting and wanting to see the new 2014 w222 in person and Mercedes didn't do the huge change they usually do. This time it's more of an evolution of the w221, but it made the decision to go with the w221 easy. One of my favorite things on the w221 is the huge fenders. This car from the side is imposing! The boxy, square cut shape is commanding and the amg package helps carry that look out to the max.
I threw in some pics of a brand new w222 S63 AMG $165k sticker and I'm telling you.. This car, the w221 can hold its own! If both cars where the same year, I'd still pic the w221.

Sorry bro but I'd go with the 222 diamond white. I agree the 221 is super sweet and I love it, but I do intend to upgrade it in the next 3yrs. I had a bmw 750LI sport, absolutely loved it but once the warranty was up it was time to move on. I was originally looking at getting a 2013 CLS550, white with tan & black interior with burlnut wood including steering wheel, fully loaded with lane departure warning but I couldn't bare getting a car with only two rear seats. My other option if I stayed with bmw would have been the 650 GranCoupe msport, white with black interior but at the time they only had 6cyl engines available (640 GC) out with no awd option. Then I began looking at the SClass which was my last choice because although I always respected and admired the look even while driving my bmw's, I just never thought they looked sporty enough. This led me to getting the amg sport package with panoramic roof, diamond white with black interior. Absolutely love the power, suspension, technology and look of this car and glad I made the decision. I did upgrade the wheels after the purchase, I originally had the 3spoke 19" amg wheels but upgraded to the 20"s. Buying these wheels with all new tires was a big expense after getting the car but for me it was just the icing on the cake.

Those are imitation for the winter That's actually PA and somehow there are still some green spots around.
Quick video of exhaust, which sounds much better in person. Rumor is, for 2010+ it was updated it seems.
