Yikes! What do you do to your cars? I've never had a problem with a rep wheel (or an oem wheel or a refurbed wheel) for that matter bending, cracking or wearing out. (How do they wear out?). I've curbed a bunch and caused cosmetic damage but nothing structural ever.
Probably don't need second set right now. It seems like the same basic designs from the same vendors are always available on EBay for around $700 a set if you need exact replacements, but at that point I'd probably take the opportunity to change styles anyway. I've replaced sets when they get too scuffed up, that's about it.
(I should add I'm in Florida and we don't have the kinds of potholes and road deterioration other states may see)
My thoughts exactly. Any idea what size the lug nuts are?

I've never had a problem with aftermarket wheels either. I used to take my range rover in the woods and climb hills and down to the swamps of the everglades etc. with the 22's and never had an issue. The wheels I just got for my W221 seem to be of great quality also.

Depends on the wheel. The vendor will have the right lug bolts available. On the rep wheels the seats will be different so your stock lug bolts won't fit. (They'll look like they fit, but trust me, they're different).
The only wrinkle would be if you plan on running spacers to reduce the offset (push the wheels out more from the car) in which case you'd need to add the width of the spacers to the lug bolt length.
