The S Coupe is now available to "build" (sort of...no interior images) on the MB website. The 3/4 rear view looked familiar and then I realized it reminded me a lot of the proportions on my kid's 2012 VW CC, especially the back-glass, C pillar and tail lamps.
Yep, I see the resemblance. I just hope, for Mercedes sake, that this car looks better in person. 2-3 years ago, I loved every car in the line-up. Then they changed the e class, s class, c class, and they all look wimpy and not as commanding. I don't know what's going on, but their cars aren't hitting the gym anymore, and the muscular look they once had is gone.
Things started going awry for me with the introductions of the current E Class and SL Class. The predecessors were so much more sexy and powerful looking. The replacements look too form-over-function.

Hey Mike how come u went with the round rear pipes over the square one's? I think yours looks better than this one. I noticed the round tail pipes were avail on 2010 s63's and then MB switched over to the squared pipes for 2011+.

Me too. I'm not a fan of the squares. Too fussy. The exhaust system is round or ovoid from the headers back so I'm not sure why the tips would be square. They also never seem to really fit the more rounded openings in the diffuser. That plus with the S63 wheels I was getting dangerously close to cloning an AMG car, which I didn't want to do out of respect for the guys who own the real AMG cars.
