DIY water pump

Im having some bad luck and finding small things starting to need attention on my 09 s550. I kept hearing chirping so I took the belt off and inspected all the pulleys and the water pump pulley was wobbling slightly but no leaks so looks like there'll be a diy on doing the water pump and a coolant flush soon. Sucks because I just did a coolant flush in the summer...

Also a friend of mine whos a mercedes benz tech told me that on our cars theres a DTB about the original belt being too wide for the pulleys and causing chirping noise. There is a new revised Poly V drive belt that is narrower so I ordered that as well.

Service Campaign 2008070002 released AUG08 covering v-belt replacement at no cost https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...ml#post3040514

Membership FYI have dealer check vehicle master inquiry (VMI) to see if VIN is included, if included and belt was not replaced it is covered even out of warranty.

Update: I got the new belt free of charge thnx konigstiger! Looks like the amount of play in the water pump is normal so I will not be doing the pump yet but when it does arise I will do a write up on this post
