Buy new 22 inch or 20 inch reps...

I live in NYC and these potholes are ridiculous... I need a new rear wheel so I'm thinking about moving down to 20 inch reps... The reps aren't much more expensive but I know that I can finally drive around without being paranoid about breaking a rim all the time...

How do you think these would look? I have the s63/s65 bodykit on my car as you can see from the pics but these rims come from the 2014 s63

I think you'd be very happy with the ride quality vs the 22". For some reason in that pic the wheels look undersized and the tire sidewall height looks too tall. 20's generally look very good on a W221. The reps are usually decent quality but there are some very good looking 20" aftermarkets for the same money. Have a look at the Niche Apex or contact forum vendor Need4Speed. They have a lot of stuff in that range

I don't want 2 sets of "aftermarket" wheels. I will be using my 22's when it's nicer outside here in NYC. I will be buying my own tires in the OEM s63 size for the w221 which is 255/35/20 and 275/35/20 I'm not sure what tires they have in the pic. Do you think they would look nice on my vehicle compared to the oem s63 rims? (I don't really like the straight design)

If I could just find rep 2014 s63 rims 21's...

Oh. Your title is "buy new 20 or 22" reps "so I presumed those S63 wheels in the pic are replicas. Are those OEM?

I agree 21" is the sweet spot on the W221 but expensive and limited selection.

Sorry for the confusion, those are reps going for $849 (wheels only) on eBay. 2014 s63 reps to be exact. The tire in that picture isn't the correct size for the w221 that's why it looks off.

Depends on the weather
I like those, they look similar to mine but mine have the open spokes as these are solid. They look good.

Great looking wheels. Very aggressive spoke design. I'd run those all day long. Offsets in the 40-45mm range?

I actually like the look of those 22" concave wheels better. Im not a fan of aftermarket much these days, im also not a fan of putting wheels on an older vehicle that came with a newer model version of the same car. If you do get the 22's im sure you are familiar with the headaches that come attached with them(i.e, possible balance issues at high speeds, wheel damage/bent rims from potholes, tire bubbles due to having such a low profile tire, air leaks in tires).

Personally I don't like anything over 21" on that car. The BMW Alpina 7 comes with 21's that match the car great.

Those are my favorite W222 rims. Will look good on the W221 too.

I totally agree with this statement. My bmw750 had 21inch bmw 128 style wheels, I loved those.
