Where is the USB port?
Just recently got a 2012 S550. On audio tab there is a USB input option but I cant find the USB Port. There is 2 short cables in Glove box that has a RCA input and a odd male plug on the end of the other cord. Would like to stream audio from my smart phone and charge it .

Glove box, check by light. Media interface comes standard with 2 cables. USB cable is available at cost, part # B67824528 - search 67824528 or current 0018279104.

I purchased the USB cable and COMAND on the hope I could use it to charge my phone while driving, but the system kept trying to read my phone versus just charging my phone while I am driving. I reverted to use the plug in charger and that works well.

Looks like I need the cable that Koningstiger mentions. I looked in center console and all over the inside of the glove box and there is just that one connector with cable that is apparently for the Iphone. Will this USB connector charge the phone also?

The question is a little confusing. "Streaming" involves a connection that isn't hardwired. Do you mean you'd like to be able to simultaneously charge your phone and play music from the phone? In that case, forget the car's USB inputs entirely. Get a Visseo Tune2Air Bluetooth audio adapter and pair your phone to it. Use a regular 5v charging port plugged in to any 12v receptacle in the car that's convenient to charge the phone. For a cleaner charging and control solution, consider a drop-in mount. I did a piece on mounts in my W221 audio blog here: https://w221audio.wordpress.com/2014...etooth-mounts/
Forget the $300 Media Interface Plus. In the 221, streaming BT audio is disabled, and the SMS text mode requires a specific Blackberry phone. Its remaining feature, Pandora integration, probably isn't worth the money.
