Door Trim Rattles
As a new owner (one week), the honey moon period is already beginning to wear off as today I noticed that both the passenger and drivers door have trim rattles on rough roads. My wife laughed as my Lexus service records from my recent trade are littered with "customer states noise heard from...." statements.
Is this common on this model and is it an easy fix. Will the dealer look at this type of problem? Mine still has over 2 years of OEM warranty left.

Is it coming from the wood trim strip? (Does pressing down on the strip stop it?). It is covered under the OEM warranty whatever it is but not CPO. Rattles are definitely uncharacteristic for an S just by how its built, but they can happen. I had the door panels off when I did the speaker upgrade and I Hushmatted everything, which I mainly did so I could push the subwoofers harder but it also helped in general. Get yours to the shop and let them figure it out.

Well a feable rattle and a hum here and there in the cabin is nothing to write home about.
If you're kinda ocd to it,as I am ,there is a myriad of creaks squeeks,buzzes and noises in the W221,usuably just try to ignore and when finally really annoyable I chase it (having someone else driving) and either glue,silicone, tape or felt the carap out of the booger ..

To test the door trim strip, make a couple of shims with little folded V shaped pieces of cardboard and wedge them into the bottom of the strip. If that kills the rattle the led light strip is your culprit.Absurd of course what we have to resort to on a $100,000 German luxury car but there you have it. I used a very thin strip of foam tape and wedged it up in there with a butter knife. I'm out of factory warranty though...otherwise I'd have it replaced.
