Tyres - SportContact 5's again or Goodyear Eagles?

I see a lot of new W222's on Goodyear Eagles. Any thoughts?

I've always had Conti tyres on my cars, with the exception of Pirelli once and never again - p zero's out of round after a hard autobahn driving in a e500.

The Conti SportContact's 2 3 and especially the 5's with black chilli are great tyres, been through them all on C and E class cars but on the s class they are far too soft for the weight of the car. Some hard mountain pass driving and the outside edge's are gone.

Goodyear seem to rate well with a harder compound?

Michelin Pilot Sport (PS3)for the summer and Conti 's wintercontact TS850 for the winter for me and very content with this the last three years.

Double that. Nothing but Michelin Pilot Sport 3's. I need fronts but they're on back order till June 30th for the 20's. Best ride, quietest tread and longest life, although the car will still eat staggered rears at half the rate of the fronts.

I put Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2 tires on mine and couldn't be any happier. They rate and perform almost identical to the Michelin Pilots for a lot less money. Very high customer reviews too.

Haven't tried those. After my experiences with the Contis, Dunlops and Sumitomos I just surrendered and go with the Michelins now as a sure thing. Let me know how those hold up though.

I just got those tires for a friend of mine on his Civic how travels a lot. He loves them. I'm really curious how they'd do on the S, compared to the factory Contis.

Typically, nothing rides better than Michelins.

The Hankooks ride beautifully so far. More quiet than I was expecting and the handling is great. Michelins are very good tires....depending on the model and application...but IMO they are over-priced, especially the high performance tires. Their popularity seems to be based on the fact that they are in bed with so many car manufacturers who use them as OEM equipment.

The worst tires you can buy for any car in any size has to be Coopers. They don't last and often come apart as you're driving.

I so dislike the soft sloppy ride of the Contis.

I might try those Ventus S1 Noble 2's as I need new fronts very soon.

In the end I went with Bridgestone Potenza RE 050's

Very happy. Grips as well as the Conti Sport5's without disintegrating after a few hard mountain passes.

On a light car sport contact5's, For a heavier car RE 050's are fantastic completely sold.
Pilot Sports are far too soft these cars.

Hankook and Honda Civic's sound like the go hand in hand....

Back in the day I had numerous sets of Potenza's on a Saab 900 Turbo...that's been a good tire for a long long time.

Check out the Cooper Zeon when you get a chance, heckuva tire at any price.

I have the Michelin's they are great but ill be honest with you they are not good for winter driving as far as snow & ice is concerned, the DWS Contacts are way better.

Performance wise, there is no comparison the Michelin's are by far the best!

Avoid goodyear and cooper.

Michellin pilot's are a good choice. Hankook, Continental, Yokohama, and Bridgestone would also be good.

Don't let NaslundStarmine see that. He'll light you up like a cheap cigar as he believes Coopers are the best tires ever produced.

Angry

Day 3 of car ownership I drive a little of the road and split the side of the Continental tire. Piece of junk. I hit a lot bigger pot holes with Cooper's on my Chrysler 300 with no problems.

What year is your 300? Because those came with Conti's for quite a while as standard equipment....and many people hated them.
