Whats Up Guys Im New To The Forum But Not New To Owning Mercedes Im Currently In The Market To Buy An S Class Preferably A 2007-2010 I Was Going To Buy An 05 Or 06 W220 But I Like The Styling Of The W221s A Whole Lot More Im Not New To MBs I Had Several Over The Years & Love Everything About Mercedes Benz Its Crazy That All My MBs Happened To Be 2007 Model Years 07 C230 Sport 07 CLK350 Cabriolet & My Favorite Of Them All Black On Black CLS550 But I Want To Up The Ante & Try My Luck With An S Class I Like Big Luxury Cars I Enjoy My 03 BMW 745Li & Have No Plans On Selling It(I Have A Few Dollars Invested In The Bimmer) But I Really Like The S550s A Little Bit More I Don't Need An S63 AMG Model I Just Want Something Nice But Not A Base Model But With A Few Features Such As Privacy Shades DVD/Navigation etc.Just Something To Put A Nice Set Of AMG wheels or 22s On & Call It A Day Just A Few Quick Questions Does The W221s Suffer From The Air Suspension Problems Like The 05-09 CLS ,03-08 E Class 2000-06 S Class? I Had Only 1 Passenger Side Shock Malfunction On My 07 CLS550 But Ended Up Replacing Both I Just Want To Be Prepared & Can An 07 Still Be Covered By Warranty?

You can by an aftermarket warranty, but for a a pre-20110 car, there are probably going to very expensive, and you also want to verify what they will cover and not cover. Also, as you already know, with any car, you really need to have it checked out before you purchase, especially with an 8 year old $100k plus car.

Agree with previous post regarding searching this forum and others about maintenance and specific issues you are concerned about. There are some threads that provide very good discussions.

I've had a 2000 s430, a 2007 s 4-matic, a 2010 s550, and currently 2011 s550. I took the 2000 to 120k +, and it did require air suspension work after 70k. Took the 2007 and 2010 to about 90k before trading in and had no air suspension issues.

 

Not sure if you're still in the market, but I picked one up last week to maybe flip. I've been through it fixing small common issues and will replace the windshield next week (has a few chips right in the sight line.


69K miles '08 4matic with AMG performance package(wheels, brakes, exhaust) Everything works. Hit me up if interested.
