w221 headlight retrofit - Best Method

2007 S550 Facelift upgrade.
I could be wrong, but I don’t think my 07 had drls, prior to the facelift headlight upgrade. I believe the drls on the facelift are the bottom white lights that turn to blinkers.

This is in Park during the day, I also tried Drive and they still wouldn’t come on. They turn on when I set it to park or turn on the lights manually but not on Auto.

Wow that weird. Mine come on in “auto mode” for sure. I’ll have to snap a few pics and post them. Is that an aftermarket front bumper cover too? I put the same one on my 07 and the eBay seller told me to wire the drls in the bumper cover to the old side marker lights that were in the fender of my 07. He told me there wasn’t enough power to wire them to the old fog light harness.

I bought facelift headlight, taillight combo off of eBay from a guy in Ca. It didn’t have night vision or curve illum, but that didn’t bother me, as I don’t have night vision on my 07 W221. I wanted easy if install and plug and play. I’m running Phillips 6k D1S and hella 100w in the high beams. Light pattern is great and I can see farther down road just with the low beams. I also upgraded the side view mirrors and front bumper too. All plug and play.
