W221 Aftermarket Styling Guide
Hey guys,
We all know the S-Class is the flagship model of the lineup. But how do you improve a car that is already...well, ready? Below you will find some tips on what to look for when sprucing up your W221.
1) Wheels - The W221 has larger wheel arches so you will want to fill up that fender gap. A 20” or 21” wheel looks at home on the S-Class. Because the side profile of the W221 is so bold, a more technical designed wheel is okay and gives the car a balanced look. I would recommend something from Forgestar or iForged. The monoblock wheel line from 360 Forged offers a few options that also look good on the S-Class.
2) Brakes - Do you have brake problems? We have an app for that! It is called the Brembo GT system and fits all W221 350/400/550/600 models. We guarantee you will appreciate the results of this system. Aesthetically they are beautiful, with huge 8-piston caliper/15” discs in front and 4-piston/13” discs in rear. With this upgrade your brakes are genuinely on par with AMG models.
3) Suspension - There are lowering links for Airmatic and ABC equipped vehicles. This is the easiest way to lower the S-Class. Tons of engineering went into the W221 suspension, so you only need to slightly lower the vehicle to get the correct ride height.
4) Performance - These have large displacement engines that sound amazing when air flow is not constrained. We know Mercedes tuned these vehicles to maintain the essence of a luxury sedan. But forget that, we want to hear this beast roar! Performance exhaust systems are available for the W221 in Touring, Racing, and Electronic Valve Controlled setups. Touring is relatively louder than factory, Racing offers the best performance, and EV Controlled is a happy medium between the two.
5) Styling - Simple modifications such as a a front lip or trunk spoiler look good on the W221. You can take it a step further and add a styling kit which completely changes the vehicle. There is the AMG style upgrade that a few members have already done on MBWorld. There are also Black Series style kits that are very aggressive.
6) Carbon Fiber - This is a great way to change up the interior. We can overlay all interior trim pieces in traditional carbon fiber, or another carbon fiber weave of your choice. The steering wheel can also be retrofitted to an AMG style with carbon fiber. We know carbon fiber is typically matched with darker leathers, but if you have a lighter interior please let us know and we have a few options for you. Exterior pieces can be done as well.
Hopefully this guide helps when selecting modifications for your car. We can't wait to see some refreshed W221s.

Aloha and hope you all had a good weekend,
We have received messages from members that are interested in 07-13 S class carbon fiber front lips and rear spoilers. We would like to coordinate a group buy for these 2 carbon fiber accessories. Early adopter pricing for the front lip is $2,000. Early adopter pricing for the rear spoiler is $1,500. These are going to be made in the US and come with a lifetime warranty. Don't worry about your carbon fiber bubbling, lifting or yellowing; we stand behind our work! Orders that are placed this month will ship just before Thanksgiving.
Please let me know if you are interested in participating. If not, thanks for taking the time to read our post.
Have an awesome afternoon and let us know if you have any questions!

triniexr, I will reach out to our fabricator and get pricing over to you. I agree replacement parts are the way to go if your focus is on the resale value.
