Center console gun vault
Hi guys, I am searching this internet machine for a S550 4-Matic center console gun vault or finger print scanner acces button for some time now.
Would anyone know if there is such a thing available?
The factory center console is perfect for a gun and quick access (if you don't have the bluetooth phone adapter monster hidden in there) but I cannot find a finger print scanner or code release button to replace the factory opening button / mechanism.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sucks for pimping. When I need to keep a ho in line or pop a cap in some rival pimp's *** I have to reach under the seat or into the glove box now. WTF Mercedes?

i carry all the time. there is no need for a gun vault in your car. think about it if someone tries car jacking you are you gonna say hey wait let me scan my finger print so i can open my gun vault. i just have my gun next to me in the seat by where my seat belt latches or i keep it inside my waist band.

I have a small food pantry in the center console, featuring nothing but foods high in saturated fats.
The car jacker may not realize it at first, but years later when he gets a physical and his triglycerides are through the roof... Yeah, that was me, a-hole!
Payback.

Juts thought it is perfect for quick access and it would be helpfull to keep other hands out. Maybe the security conversion companies have something. If everything fails I'll relocate the Bluetooth brick to the underside of the drawer, disable the opening buttons and see if I can make me a hidden release button somewhere else.

Theres a handful of gun safes that may fit in there. The good news is, its a air conditioned compartment so you can have chilled bullets.
I agree with some of the others. If you want the car, you can have it. Shes insured.

I think car jacking deaths/injuries (and robberies in general) usually involve resistance. Sometimes it's unavoidable...your kid is still in the car for example, but generally I think the least obstructed path you can yield to the a-hole the less likely you are to get shot.
It's safe to presume the carjacker is armed, and tactically you have a huge disadvantage if he's at your window with a gun to your head and you're belted into your seat with your gun one step removed.
All things being equal...he's armed, you're armed, he's in a much better position to take you out than you are to defend yourself, and the act of reaching for your weapon, or any movement other than getting out of the car and backing away that might be interpreted to be you reaching for a weapon greatly increases your likelihood of getting shot.
I guess if the guy totally sucked at carjacking and telegraphed the coming attack by brandishing while he was still far enough away to give you time to get your gun and get it in firing position, then I say blast away. Or if you happen to witness someone else getting jacked, fire away then too.

I didn't read anywhere that the OP was looking to defend a car jacking and I didn't interpret his post that way. I interpreted his post simply to ask about whether a gun vault can fit in the center console. The reality is that people carry and keep firearms in their vehicles. The OP's desire to secure a firearm in his vehicle is, in my opinion, responsible instead of, in the alternative, leaving it under the seat or the unlocked center console.

The referenced to car jacking appear in subsequent replies to the original post. The OP turned out to actually be a secret British agent and I believe "Q" was able to install the console gun safe with fingerprint scanner for him, so it's all good.

Mike5215,
you are correct. next on my list would be the rotating license plate holder, the smoke gun in the back, the oil release system and a little gismo to drop a couple pounds of spikes like I had in the vehicles in my older movies.

Don't forget the sub machine guns hidden in the grille. Makes valet parking much more efficient.

Not to make any judgement calls about having a gun vault...but if my car got jacked, I would just give it up and say take it. Then I'd make an insurance claim so I could get a check to buy a CPO W222. Just sayin'.

Not so much worried about car-jacking.......

You ask where to find one and people jump into reasoning, conclusions, and questioning as to why you need one instead of helping you find one.

The one thing my E-Class had over my S class was the storage compartment in the front of the driver and passenger side seats. I could store multiple weapons and ammo and since it's not an obvious compartment the cops never searched it. It was quick access when I needed it.

I don't think that compartment is big enough for my M134 mini-gun. Probably have to mount it roof-top.

If you can do that you are at a big advantage. The car is much more deadly that most handguns, and of your car is in reverse with the wheel all the way to the right and you goive it gas he is getting run over ..... unless there is a car next to you and then it is worse for him. You might still get shot, but your chances of surviving will be better than his.
